Use Online Photos to Help Consumers and Local Businesses!

It's always bugged me that  in many areas if someone were to look up a community to see what it "looks like" all they can find are house listings and some kids my space pics. I've discovered it's very easy to upload photos  to help people "see the area" online. Posting photos can allow you to help potential buyers and consumers as well as local business owners easily! Using Picasa by Google, or other online photo albums, you can easily upload photos for the public. I used Picasa (free) to create these albums which can be embedded as albums or slideshows on any website. I created them for neighborhoods, commercial projects, and my town in just a few hours!

I believe that the real estate business is about service, and finding ways to help those in my community. When that is your focus, the business will come (in any kind of market!)

Heather, I try to give as much information as I can fit on the listing. Here is a link; http://tinyurl.com/3bcbj7

Guess which picture on realtor dot com got more hits.

People can find area information on my web site, facebook, and myspace input.

I agree with you.

Nice photos, Heather.  And a good reminder!

Greg, what a great expired listing!  I'm sure you'll get it re-listed soon! (*Why so much Spanish in your (ex) listing?  Just curious...I'm not familiar with the area.  Either way, buenos suerte!  )

My Portland, Oregon, MLS allows 16 listing photos per listing.  Then, if needed I can augment using my Point2Agent website, should I desire to have more photos.  But my P2A listing site does not get anywhere near the traffic, per listing, that my MLS listing does.

Anyway, thank you, Heather, for raising awareness!

Heather, Good Ideas and Greg, I had never thought about useing a few  local photos like you did to show what is close by so that is something that I would like to do for sure. Some of my listings are close to a state park and/or waterfalls or a huge lake that I could be putting some of those photos in my virtural tours.  I am going to get some pictures and add them in! Thanks.

good luck with it, Jan.  Phil, that listing was sold twice by me. The first time it fell apart when the buyers' contract to sell their condo in another part of NJ fell apart - (the Viet Nam theory). The next time I was working a "short sale" with the mortgage guys. By the time they approved the sale (2 months) the buyers had walked away. Today it is going to Sheriff Sale and if they get $80,000 they are lucky. I am sure others would be able to do what I couldn't do - but, so is life.

The spanish text was the last attempt to market the condo. We do have a small spanish population here that many feel are illegals. But, I don't care about that, I just wanted to sell the unit. It was advertised on many Spainish web sites. Prior to the spanish it was in french and marketed in Canada. I did my job - I've got a paper trail to prove my work. SOMETIMES YOU JUST FAIL. BTW, the pool shot with the girl on the edge got the most hits on realtor dot com.

Greg, don't beat yourself up.  You did your job.  Sometimes we just aren't in control (the man upstairs is).  When you are a listing agent, you have to know that not every listing will sell, even though we get attached to the sellers and feel their pain... You definately did your job.

Shelley's right, Greg; Why are you beating yourself up?  Maybe it's just the way we are reading your response.

Yeah, I take the business too personal. It is always the one that didn't sell that tears me up. Get stuck with the coulda shoulda done it better. I know you can't win them all - but, I keep trying. (insert smile)! Thanks!
