Okay, before you download and read the stats, please get a box of tissues.  Then, send your checks to this mock charity:

Metro Detroit Realtors Food, Clothing, and Shelter Fund    c/o Comerica Bank . . .. . . . .

Oh, they just announced they are moving their headquarters to Texas.  So download attached doc, everybody needs a good "let it out cry-fest".

That is a great question Bob, I've uploaded it 3 times but don't know why it is not showing?  I'll place a link--just won't be as user friendly.

Hi,

Where did you get the stats from? I'm in Clarkston. Are the Oakland county stats something Realcomp posted someplace? I was updating my web site last night and have different stats for Orion, Oxford, Clarkston, Waterford and Rochester Hills. I only have Orion and Oxford on the site. I eliminated leases by searching over $20K. In the past I would search over $5K. I've been keeping track of Orion and Oxford since 2000. The link to that page of my site is below. I will be adding townships and leases as I get time.

http://www.mirelocation.com/Market_Conditions/page_1808130.html

Also, the amount of listings taken - did they include leases? Good stats are hard to come by and doing my own is time consuming.

thanks a lot

This information is from the most recent monthly newsletter you receive if you are a member of the Metropolitan Consolidated Association of Realtors.  If you zoom up on the page, on the bottom of the stats you will see Oakland County stats by Realcomp MLS and Macomb from MiRealsource MLS.  I do not know the specific methods.

Interesting that these statistics come from a newspaper located in Wayne County, talking about a major corporation (Comerica Bank) which is located in Wayne County, yet NO statistics for Wayne County?  Which, by the way, is leading the nation in foreclosed homes!  OK Detroit News..where are the WAYNE COUNTY stats??

Not so far off from Monroe County Michigan.

Toledo is faring a little better right now, but we looked like that about a year ago...

NOW - the trick is to SPIN this - somehow, so that we are using our power to CREATE POSITIVE ENERGY instead of drown ourselves in darkness
