My Google, Yahoo & MSN Rankings

By: Andrew Dove

Im new to this whole blogging thing.   But I just wanted to say for those that are new to the SEO concept and how you get ranked on top search engines, webuildpages.com is a site that you can use to analyze your site, and find out how you stack up against the competion such as homegain and all the other so called lead generation site, which I believe is a rip off, having tried a few of them with out success.  I embarked on a crusade over the last two months to figure out how to get a presence on the major search engines.  I think I pretty much did all I could do to get on google, still pretty much a mystery on yahoo and msn.

Anyways I just wanted to let you all know that I believe this is a good page that can help you determine your ranking with different search terms for your particular areas.

example for me terms such as:  augusta homes for sale, augusta georgia homes for sale, keller williams augusta partners, hephzibah homes for sale, hephzibah homes, hephzibah new homes, Ft Gordon homes, etc..

Does anyone have any advice for a new kid on the block.

Thanks for any input.

On the same note - I have used the sitemapping tool available from google. When I google my name the site-mapping code appears instead of my name, any ideas? Thanks!

Andrew - I rank #1 on Google and MSN for major search terms and am on page 1 on Yahoo for many of the same terms. I'd say 90 - 95 % of my traffic comes from Google, a few from MSN and maybe 1 - 2 a day from Yahoo. Since Google drives almost all of my traffic, I only worry about them and pay close attention to how to stay on top for that search engine.

I spent an enormous amount of time figuring out what I needed to do to get that ranking, and it seems to get more demanding all the time. Here's a good article that explains a some recent thinking on reciporeal linking. It's a new tactic that I'd like to beging using. http://www.realestatewebmasters.com/blogs/seo-nick/contextual-linking-4-steps.html

Here a few sites that I found helpful, Widexl, WebCEO, SEO Elite, Key Word Elite. The first two are free and the last two have great information free and a reasonable cost on programs to help maintain you SEO. I use SEO Elite daily.

Larry I have to agree with you the whole process is a very time consuming.  But I definately believe that If I continue to work hard at it I will definately reap the rewards later on.

Gary thanks for the info on the site you use

I also found this site usefull in building keyword/phrases

http://freekeywords.wordtracker.com type in a search term for real estate in your area and it will give you many possibilities for different combination of search terms for real estate in your area and then some from other areas as well, this was very help, try the free keyword suggestion tool.

Im no wiz but I do sit up and play with this every night so if I can be of any help to anyone please email or call me especially for those who are not very computer savvy I can talk you through it over the phone.

Im out.
