CABO SAN LUCAS, Mexico

An American salt water angling team that won their qualifying tournament in the Florida Keys has captured top honors at the International Game Fish Association Offshore World Championship in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.

John Timura, Robert Collins and Taylor Walsh, all of Islamorada, Fla., along with Scott Salley of Naples, Fla., and Ken Longaker of Seattle bested 62 other teams representing the United States and 27 other countries after the results were announced yesterday.

Their four-day total of 4,025.6 points were derived from catching and releasing 13 marlin and a sailfish. They also captured a 25-pound, six-ounce dorado.

Barbara, you need to delete that pingback.  It is a virus source.  Not your fault, but please get rid of it.

And then you can go ahead and credit the Associated Press for the text of your post...since you didn't write it...  :)

Gary I am glad you didn't catch a virus.  You know dating is much like fishing, and apparently blogging as well.  I don't date or fish anymore, and this blogging has some concerns too.

I probably would fish, but I like seafood and Idaho is landlocked.  We have trout, steelhead, salmon, bass, crappie, perch, sturgeon, and of course carp & suckers (we don't eat the last two).  Maybe when I am in Florida next, I will look you up?

Nate we have the biggest bass and when you talk salt water fish, this is the tarpon capitol, next to Tampa. I don't eat fish but I am the best catch and release guide in Fort Myers. Give me a call any time. You will never come back without a fish of some sorts!
