John – Deception was not the intent but not a bad idea– I have been told all my life I had a face only a mother could love, so I thought I would use it! If youthful pictures work, someone will have to use an ultrasound to beat that one.

I had posted that picture before on Relib but I don’t remember what the discussion was then. I took it down before the day was done but decided to give this a try again for the month of June. I used to use that picture in 2003-4 on my business cards and ads. It all started when an agent I worked with, that was close to my age, was using what appeared to be her high school picture on her business card. I used to ask her when she was going to introduce me to her daughter. She would say that she doesn’t have a daughter, only a son. She never got the correlation with her business card picture, until I handed her one of the Baby Face business cards and then she was mad at me for weeks.

The cards and the ads actually pulled well and I still have people ask me why I stopped using it. I stopped all printed ads but I also removed it from my web site. When I changed it for Mike’s post and decided to leave it up for June to see if it still had some power. Yesterday after the switch, I received two prospects and today I have received six. That is above normal for a day for me. Don’t know if I can attribute it to the picture yet, but I will know more if it continues. Back when I was using it, I was receiving 300-400 prospects a month but it was a different sales environment. So, I really don’t know if it had any effect then or not. It is an attention getter!

So, under those baby cheeks is the real me, weaving my tangled marketing web hoping that the Mothers of America unite and love baby cheeks enough to send him their email and phone information. If not, the ole man will reappear.

Gary, what a great idea. I don't have an ultrasound but I think I have a picture from my Colonoscopy that I could use. Some people call me an a-hole anyway. I might as well give them the picture. Too bad I couldn't make it a scratch and sniff.
