Time to Dredge the WEDGE!

By: Candice A Donofrio
Wednesday, October 10, 2007 4:26 PM

OK, here's the question: What or who is the WEDGE in your life? In your business?

What or who is standing between YOU and WHAT YOU WANT?

If you can honestly, sincerely answer NOTHING, you're in great shape. I bow in deference!

But most of us have something, somewhere that's getting in the way of a clear shot to success.

What is your wedge?

Mine has been TIME. I used to think there was not enough. Now I'm trying to revise that belief, and focus more on managing time wisely. I've learned to really enjoy multitasking. And most importantly, to make myself take a break when one is needed. In other words, to take the wedge, dredge it out of my subconscious and turn it into leverage instead.

Of course, the first step always is to identify the source of the disconnect.

How have you dredged a wedge, turned it into a flotation device and sailed away to a successful outcome?

It's usually as easy as changing the way you look at the obstacle.

Wasn't there a country song about stumbling blocks being stepping stones? :)

I wouldn't trust ANYONE that denied the presence of "Wedges" in their lives.   It's like saying you've never made a mistake.

I have them.  And I work on them.

Maybe right now for some, they are small wedges.   "Wedgies".   I was just communicating with someone today who described one in his life and how humbling it was.   Perhaps it's just a part of living?   I think so.

Candice sometime trying to dread the wedge is like reacting to the wedgie. It was unexpected and doesn't feel good but you know survival is not in question. You suffer through it and understand that it is just something that brought you closer to reality. When it is over, it feels much better and you realize that the experience taught you something. Be prepared for the worst and learn from all expieriences. Write it in the book!

Excellent post Candice! My wedge is time also. Instead of dreading the wedge, I've learned to enjoy multi tasking, sometimes ignoring the wedge or putting the wedge out of my mind. However, the wedge can be uncomfortable and over time if not mitigated can chafe your well being. I guess I don't dredge the wedge, but pick at it, by trying to break large tasks into small goals.

If I had a nickel for every wedge I would have a few nickels, let me tell you. The little wedges, wedgies, as Phil so aptly named them, seem to be the most bothersome, like a short attention span. Sometimes I start wandering off mentally in the middle of...

Too many wedgies......But I'm GOOD!  Everyone has them.  You can't always control the wedgies, but you CAN control how you react to them.  It's all in the choices you make.

Blogging Wedge..... Well that sounds like a Wedgie....  an hour a day.

But every day, could be painful with the chaffing.  And should be, frankly, and all the time adds up.

At least it's not like a Cancer Wedge or Divorce Wedge.   Just a time shift issue.

So enjoy your Wedgie.  It won't be the last one I'm sure.

I know wedgies.  My brothers used to give me wedgies. Now they are the wedge!! Have you ever tried to sell your relatives property?  then you know a wedge.  Doesn't matter how old you get, your brother can still be a wedgie.

Candice, You have a way with words! I got rid of one of my main wedgies when I changed to a new broker.

Now, my next wedgie is the weight I have gained from sitting around and blogging when I should be exercising!

Wow how did I miss this yesterday. Ok, I believe everything happens for a reason. If you seem to be meeting with alot of wedges (aka wedgies) than I am thinking you might just be in the wrong place at the wrong time.

We teach people how to treat us and if you keep constantly finding yourself the victim of the wedgie, there is a deep seated problem.

Lastly, if you find yourself having to deal with the wedgie, do it gracefully, use your tool of choice to dislodge whatever you are dealing with. Take it like the man or woman you are. And don't forget paybacks.

LOL you guys inspire me EVERY DAY!

Patience is another wedgie for me. . . I guess that could be filed under time . . . just waiting for things to happen. Especially things I know are going to happen, just not yet. The world needs to pick up the pace sometimes! OK, I'm chillin'. Or at least pretending to.

Other people can DEFINITELY be a wedge. I want to zig and husband, friends or clients elect to zag. See it as entertaining. What else can we do but laugh most of the time? Back to patience.

Anyone see a pattern here? LOL

My wedge is definitely my home and family.  If I did not feel such responsiblity for them, I would be able to always focus 100% on my business.  Life just doesn't roll that way, however, and I constantly struggle to find the balance that is oh so important to me.

LIFE....A typo.

Hmmm, Inspires a poem

Life... Live a few, laugh a few, try not to dredge a few,

That is the beauty of life.

I cannot find a way, nor send a wedge to you.

Find a way, live and play a life without strife.

Thats the beauty of you.

Hmm. Sounds like a song I know........
