Number One Agent?

By: Carmen and Jeff Bills

I

I was checking my emails the other day and came across one that caught my eye. It was from a company called Number One Agent. They had some big promises and I am wondering if the community out there has any comments. It seems like a big investment $6000+ in year one, but if the claims that they make are true it might just be worth the investment. Any thoughts or comments? Happy selling to all....Confused

Wow, if I only had a dollar for everytime I've heard that pitch. LOL  We salespeople fall for it sooooo often, even when we know better.  Everytime I see some new marketing scheme, I'm tempted with the thought... "just one sale from this will pay for the full year".  Then I snap back to reality and count how many things I bought that DID NOT produce 'just one sale'.

Who are the easiest people to sell to?  Salespeople, of course!

I'm as guilty as anyone... always looking for an easier way and paying through the nose to try and find it. LOL

I am trying to train myself to ask the opposite question:

"What if the claims they make are NOT TRUE?"  Can I really afford to throw $6000 their way?

Carmen and Jeff,

You may be talking about Number One Expert. (Number1Expert.com)

We have heard some good things about them but in reality they are not much different from other lead generation companies except they provide you with a website. see this blog: https://www.reliberation.com/blogs/colleen_schrieber/archive/2007/03/09/does-realestate-com-work.aspx

We have spoken to a broker who bought several sites in an effort to provide leads to newer agents in his company (about 300 agents strong).

Number 1 Expert sells lead generating websites for $5000 each. You have to provide the content and search engine keywords. Then there are monthly hosting fees, etc. They say they provide search engine placement but after a few months I noticed that the broker's sites were no longer found on search engines (at least in the top 100).

The lead quality is where the similarity comes in. He said they had lots of tire kickers and bogus names and email addresses. He said if you work with every lead as if every lead were going to close you might get 1 or 2 deals per month. (from multiple websites)

So, one website might get you one deal every 2 or 3 months. It is really the time commitment that costs you the most. We agree with other experienced agents that the best money spent is on generating your own leads. Spending time working with good leads is much more fun than cracking 50 or 100 oysters hoping there is at least 1 pearl somewhere.

Thanks Guys, I knew the answer, I guess I just needed a kick in the uou Know what. I get many leads from my point 2 site with my pay per click, but it did sound tempting. Well off to write one up, have a great weekend everyone...

Remember these words from your mom "If it sounds to good to be true, it usually is". They will make a lot of money, usually off newer agents that haven't been told by their principle broker that these companies are out there and all they really want is our money and not to really help us.
