The grass is growing, Time to CUT IT

It has been a long cold winter here in sunny Charleston, S.C. Most days are in the 50-70 degree range and I have to tell you the buyers have been inside staying warm. Yes we have had a good deal here and a bad deal there all winter long, but nothing to really right home about. But I have been at work planting seeds, day by day and night by night. Today was sunny and 75 degrees and my landscaper showed up to cut the grass for the first time. I pulled out my little black appointment book and to a look and to my all the seeds that I have been planting all winter long, and alas they are growing. We have clients popping out of the ground left and right and hopefully we can turn them into buyers. Booked with at least three clients in from out of town every week through April and into the second week of May. Yes the grass is finally growing here in Charleston now it is time to cut it and bag the green. So is your grass growing in your neck of the woods yet? May you lawn be lush and green all summer long....

My grass never stopped growing, but it is warmer here in North Florida than in S.C.  It was the warmest winter in over 50 years.  We usually have about 7 nights below freezing with 2 of those in the 20'sF.  This year we had 1 night below freezing at 30F.  It was the first winter I can remember that I had flowers of one kind or another blooming in the yard all the time.

My grass is not yet growing on lovely Cape Cod, but my hostas are sprouting and the crocus are peaking out.  I can't wait!

Cathy, summer is beautiful on Cape Cod and fall is spectacular, spring is coming to you soon and it will be wonderful, the problem in the north is that winter is too long. When we have a couple of days in the 40's or 50's during winter, everyone huddles for warmth.

Howard, those sweltering southern summers are overwhelming to me and Cape Cod winters are usually pretty mild.  We generally stay warmer than the mainland and haven't seen any major hurricanes since Bob in '91.  There's a trade-off for everything, I guess.

Absolutely stunning on Cape Cod today.  Held an open house. It's about 50 degrees, sat outside on the deck feeling the love from the sun!  Those crocus' were in full bloom when I got home!

Happy Spring Everyone!
