Google the Giant vs. Overture YAAHOOOO

As many of you out there I run pay per click, 7 days a week, 365 days per year. I have come to the conclusion that I have a better conversion rate with Yahoo(overture) even though the cost seems to continue to rise. What have all of you concluded? Which service is better for conversion of leads to buyers and cheaper for good keywords?

I have found more quality leads, PPC and organic, with Google, but then I only used Yahoo PPC for a short period of time. I have recently been doing better with Yahoo in organic results, but for a while I was invisible.

What do you think about the rumors that Microsoft will buy a large portion of Yahoo. That will make it interesting.

As of Friday, Yahoo is shutting down their E-bay style auction. I find this very interesting when the rumors about Microsoft also start to arrise.

Most of my leads come from Yahoo classifieds, I signed up with google for a PPC deal but they wouldn't budge from their lowest price of 10 cents. In July I will try their price.   Good Luck!

I have used both Yahoo(Overture) and Google for 2.5 years and I have found that;

1. Google is MUCH less complicated to manage

2. Google provides me with 62% of my web site referrals

3. Google costs less per click

4. Yahoo .... hmmmmm nothing comes to mind that they are better at

Score: Google=3  Yahoo=0

But I still use Yahoo for those few browsing users who won't use Google

I have been a Google PPC for a few years and Yahoo (the company that tied itself to one Real Estate Firm) has never been kind to me. If you are with the firm they married than it makes sense to join them. But if you never have a chance at the being bride or groom than forget dancing at the wedding. I think they made a big mistake by tying up with one Company since it wasn’t mine.

Google has produced for me and I would recommend them to anyone. They are not #1 because they don’t know what they are doing.

I'm curious about the suggested cost per click to get your sponsored link on the first page!?  I assume it would vary from city to city, depending on the saturation of the market.  I have a slim budget of $150 a month, about 18 keywords, and all are set at about $.50 per click.  That seems high to me, however, I still don't get clicks.  I get tons of impressions, but very few clicks.  And when I search my own sponsored Ad, I can never find it (although Ramesh from Google says its there).  I'm not sure what the problem is.

I've tried both and neither one has brought me much success. I've just started creating small ads for individual listings on Google. I hope that will bring better results.

I do use both the yahoo and google. Yahoo has not brought any direct result but the puts my page in the front. Google has worked great for me so far.
