Point 2 adds listings to top search sites

I was so excited to see the September Member's email saying that you only had to add your listing once and Point 2 would then add the listing to that long list of top search sites!

I went on a couple and couldn't find any Canadian listings. Tried a few more...still couldn't find them. As it turns out, they only appear on Point 2 homes and "VAST". That's only two out of 18. Perhaps I am doing something wrong and wasn't able to find them - but if it's that hard for me, I assume the average Joe couldn't find them either.

I know there are many many Point 2 members who are Canadian so I think it would be beneficial to have this fabulous feature be advantageous to us as well.

Does anyone else from Canada agree??? Can someone from Point 2 address this?

I think it may be more of a problem on the receive end than the send end. Having said that, it would be nice to have a list of the sites which our listings will appear on. I'm concerned about potential mis-representations to a client about where their listing will appear. I'm also not crazy about having "stats" in the seller's area which show no visits. They are a new syndication partner of Point2 and our listings are the only ones I see there. It is incredibly slow to load, but not a selling feture nonetheless. I have seen some CDN listings on GoogleBase maybe on LiveDeal.ca. Take a look at http://www.myrealplace.com. They are only in Vancouver right now, but are planning to go nationwide soon. I was putting in a postal code from PEI and it wasn't recognizing it. Also, on Edgio, there are Canadian listings but none for PEI. Corey, I know your company is Canadian which is why I am surprised you don't solicit more syndication sites from Canada and vendors from Canada as well. It just makes sense to try to have something which is beneficial to agents in both countries. Right now it doesn't appear to be even close to equal. Aren't there any companies in Canada who would be interested in being chosen vendors?? It's just frustrating not being a part of all the good stuff!!! October 3, 2007 10:57 AM

I think househunting.ca is one which will only be available to Canadian agents. It's owned by Canwest Global so it should turn out to be a major advantage for us. It will receive promotion in many newspapers across the country. Most of the majors were born in the U.S.A. and unfortunately, there aren't nearly as many opportunities for syndication in Canada.
