A colleague of mine listed a home that had two young children living there. The parents wanted potential Buyers to realize this was a "family" neighborhood and submitted a picture of their two elementary aged children in front of the fireplace at Christmas so it could be viewed on the listing. The Agent placed the pic on the listing.
When I saw it on MLS, I called the Agent. She was single at the time, no kids, and didn't realize that this picture would be displayed, world-wide, with an address! I explained that putting this picture out on the "net" was placing these children at risk. She immediately removed it and explained it to the parents who were horrified that they hadn't thought of this. They hadn't yet experienced IM, MySpace, ChatRooms & Facebook and had no idea.
As with pricing, marketing, etc., sometimes we need to protect our Clients from themselves. Even when it comes to their own kids.
BTW, viscious-looking dogs in front of the fireplace........A Good Thang!
