I'm Scared. And I Don't Scare Easily

For our Astronauts.  Not just the Americans but the Russians, as well.  I'm just not really sure that there is "plan". I'm scared for them and their families.  I cannot even imagine what they are going through right now.I won't say anything more. It would be morbid.  I think we all must pray for them.

From the news, it appears they have the situation under control.  I don't think there is any real danger to the astronauts (they can leave on the shuttle if necessary), although losing the station would be a major setback.

Rod, if you don't mind, I'll borrow some of your confidence.  In return, you can tell me "I told you so!" and I won't mind a bit.

Cathy the evening news said that the space station was able to fix the computer and they are now up and running again.  One of our shuttle astronauts took a little space walk today with his or hers (not sure who took the walk) pocket sewing kit and fixed the heat blanket.  So they too are good to go.  Thank God for our shuttles or the Russian astronauts in the space station might be up ****creek.

Actually they used a surgical stapler and were going to staple one layer to the underneath layer. I haven't seen any photos of the repair yet. Only two computers are back online and they still don't know for sure what caused the power to shut down. All but three will be coming back in the shuttle and the other three would have to return in the small emergency capsule, sticking out of the nose of the space station, which hasn't been used before. Right now, the shuttle is being used to make any corrections in the stations orbit. Without it, and without anyone on board working on the computer/power problem, the station could become history.

And a set of small jumper cables that seems to have solved the problem!
