Fantastic Newsletter Resource

By: Christine Hart Howlett

About 18 months or so ago, I decided I wanted to send a monthly newsletter.  I knew there was no way I would be able to put one together every month, so I turned to the web.  I found several companies that supply internet newsletters, ones that can only be emailed, but I wanted one that I could print out and mail.

That's when I discovered Resulti.  For a very small fee of $24.95 per month, I receive a printable newsletter that is not only well written and informative, but also very professional in appearance.  I print out as many copies as I want and send them to my sphere and farm area, include them in my listing packets, and hand them out at open houses.  The newsletters include my name and photo, and make no mention of Resulti, giving the appearance that I was the creator (I'm not going to tell!).  I receive tons of compliments and business from them.

If you would like to learn more, check out the website at www.resulti.com or contact Bill Rith at support@resulti.com.  Tell Bill I sent you.

Thanks Christine, I have been wanting to find a site that does just that and only could find email newsletters. I have bookmarked the web site and will start using it as soon as I get some time. I have been busy as of late, that is a good thing.

Looks like a pretty good source.  Thanks for the tip.  Could you provide us with some of your experience with this so far?

Are you using black and white or color?

Are you doing the printing at home or printing one and taking it to be copied and folded?

Do they provide the free reports that are mentioned in the "Call to Action" section or do you have to supply your own?

How many are you mailing out each month and how much is the postage for each?  I know as my sphere grew it became much more labor intensive and expensive to manually do a newsletter, even with the content provided.

Thanks again for sharing this resource, it looks pretty good.

Hello,

I also use Resulti and like it. Affordable, good content and it makes you look like you have actually created it yourself.

I use the back and white, since I think color is too commercial. I want mine to have that home made look.

When I get mine at the beginning of the month from Resulti, I email it to Office Depot, request a number of copies on an 11x17 paper, printed on both sides and folded. They can only fold once, I have to do one more fold. I make a nice 4-page newsletter.

And yes I have gotten business from it.

Still curious about the "Free Report" call to action area, do you edit it with something different each month or keep it the same month to month?

Thank You, Thank You, Thank You, Thank You!

Been looking for something that doesnt "brand" is self all over it.

Mirtha... We have used Old Replubics in the past, and it was a great tool when first starting out and budget was thin, but they do brand them self on it.

Susan and other "office depot, max, kinko" users. You should look into a good Color Laser, we have had a Samsung color laser printer for over a yar now and it has paid for itself 4x over. you can buy you color cartirdges on line and save BIG time. just some helpful hints here :-) we paid around $400 for our color laser at best buy... and it wasnt the cheapest but it had the function we wanted in on like can do legal size and post card size, as well as double side printing.

I too use Resulti and I like it for a lot of reasons. One of the biggest is their liberal use policy. I can post it to my website as well as print and mail it. While it generally better to have HTML vs PDF formated content, it is new and downloadable content. Of course if you check my website you can see I'm behind in my project of posting Resulti newsletters!

One trick I've learned w/ Resulti is to add some local content. The way I do this is to open the Resulti PDF file in a full featured PDF creation program. If you have Adobe Acrobat (full version and not the Reader) you can do this. I use NitroPDF which is only $90.00 and does everything I need with a lot less bloat.

I remove the 4th page. I then open MS Publisher and open my "Resulti 4th Page.pub" file. The top half of the 4th page is meant for the mailing address and my return address. This stays the same every month. In the bottom half I insert the latest Austin Real Estate Market overview taken from my local Austin Board of Realtors member site.

I then print this MS Pub 4th page to a PDF file. I flip over to NitroPDF and choose Edit | Insert | Pages... , navigate to the save MS Pub PDF file and insert it as the new page 4.

Lastly I flip over the 4th page so that when I have Kinko's print and fold the dual sided 11 X 17 (which = 4 pgs of 8.5 X 11), the folded seam is at the bottom. This means the mail sorter machine has an easier time of pulling it through. Plus it opens up better for the recipient. By the way, I have it printed in black & white which is much more cost effective. The Resulti newsletter is not overly produced and the writer's voice is friendly all of which gives it a homegrown feel. I've even gotten compliments on my personable writing style!

I knock this out in about 20 minutes now. Below I've posted before and after examples (links to a domain of mine which is a common misspelling of my name)

Lucia, to answer your questions...

I generally send about 350 per month.  I simply print one and copy it on my broker's copier (with permission, of course).  There is the option of color, but I prefer black and white.  To add a bit of pizzazz, though, instead of folding the newsletter in half and using the back portion for the mailing address, I use that area to add something of my own.  Some months I feature a new business in town, or tell about a vacation Don and I have taken, or give them updated info on market conditions.  I always do this section in color.  I then take them to a senior center where the little ladies put them together for me.  They don't ask for anything in return, but I always leave $50 which allows them to have a pizza party or some other fun thing.  They are thrilled to do it!  The director said they get all excited when they see me coming.  They have no idea how excited they make me now that I don't have to put them together (fold, stuff, lick and stamp) myself.

Good luck to all of you.  If you decide to use Resulti, let me know how it's working out.
