I wanted to call to those who are using tablet pcs for their real estate businesses. I just ordered the Lenovo X60 Tablet PC and am very anxious in joining the tablet pc crowds. I'm looking forward to having contracts signed on it and printing them on my portable printer. How is your tablet pc? I chose the Lenovo X60 because it was both a laptop and converted into a tablet pc. It also has the Verizon aircard built in which I can't live without lately. I enjoy being able to provide listing information instantly...well....as soon as possible:)

I find several users on Point2 that have users register to receive IDX listings from their MLS. I don't have that setup on mine because I feel with MLS listings being offered everywhere for free, potential prospects may just say "Next" and go to a free MLS listings with IDX. I offer a Email Listings Alert which people usually provide information and it goes into my lead generation system using a webcapture form. It has worked well but was always curious about the registrations.
For those that do use this method, what is the rate of registrations? When do you treat them as a prospect customer and make contact with them.

I just created a link called Just for Kids. I wanted to know if there were other agents working this angle and wanted to exchange ideas with others who are implementing this. Needless to say I'm trying to work a strategy to target kids to interact on my website - one of many enhancements I hope to make.
Thanks,

I wanted to inquire among the agents that work with leases. Who do you have the prospects write a check to for the lease application/credit check? I have known of agents getting that fee themselves and others having the fee given to the lender who runs their credit check. Some insight would be great from other areas.

I was curious to know how many agents knew their immediate competition in their neighborhood and if it was competitive because of it. There are a total of 28 agents in my neighborhood. Three ring leaders and the others you don't see many signs up for them. I am trying to increase my exposure past a few listings I've had and mailed postcards. I'd love to hear from others who are in the same predicament.

I find it interesting how agents define themselves as neighborhood experts. It creates a liability to define oneself as an expert in a specific area unless you know all the facets of the neighborhood - not just real estate related. Do you know the bylaws of the association? Do you know the legal ramifications for construction, additions, permits, etc? Do you know the easements and encroachments and how the lots are divided? These and many other questions baffle me when I see realtor signs with the words "neighborhood expert". An agent a while back was taken to court after defining themselves as a neighborhood expert and misrepresenting themselves in the information they presented their client with. What are your thoughts as to this?
