P2A WEBSITE BUILDING CLASSES

By: Dennis Jonas

After reading about an agent getting another website and leaving the P2A system, I wondered why.  Even with all the tutorials available to help build your site, I believe many agents continue to struggle to build and enhance their sites to generate business on line.  With over 100,000 P2A members, I would like to have some P2A on hands, in the classroom seminars available.  I believe I could learn more in a one or two class about developing my P2A website to generate content, placement and business then I could spending 6 months on-line with the tutorials.  I would be happy to spend a few dollars to take these seminars.  I believe that the P2A system is ahead of the curve right now, but the members need to really understand the tools that they have available.  Would othe P2A members want and support these type of seminars?

Dennis, I will be one of the first people to tell anyone that I couldn't have learned what I now know without having a P2 site.  Having those sites has allowed me to learn SOOOOOO much from so many people.  Well, learning that info has also allowed us to create another website outside of P2 that will do everything we want it to do.  And if you could recreate the same thing and not have to pay the reoccuring monthly charges for a website, wouldn't you do the same thing?

I am by no means saying P2 isn't worth joining if you need a website.  I couldn't have learned and met the people I have met without joining Point2.  I am not getting rid of P2, I will still have my standard free site and don't ever plan on getting rid of that.

Dennis,

P2 does have online "webinars" available normally. They went through some restructuring last month and they are training a new person to be available to do the classes.

I'm not sure when they are going to come back online with those but I do know they are in the works again.

You will find the links to them when they are available again in your Online Office.

It all comes down to time.  I have several years Web building experience but am still discovering P2's many capabilities (and some shortcomings).

I just don't have the time to read online tutorials and attend webinars.  I spend several hours nightly tweaking my sites and rely on the forums to help when I get stuck or need direction.

So after about a year with P2, my site is doing well and now I am at the point where I need to work on search engine placement.  I will need the tutorials for that but will still look to the forums for quick answers and guidance.

I agree with the time factor.  I have time after all the kids make it to bed!  I need some webinars which keep my interest and teach me vital enhancements, not the "Web 101" material.  I have used the tips provided by P2, but the end result differs, at times, from what I envisioned.

I have experienced top rankings for my website, prior to the new ranking system.  I took pride in being one of the top five in my state.  Since the new system, I have fallen out of the top ten.  I am spending some time trying to add some new & unique "bling-bling" for exposure.  I can use some help with enhancement & search placement, as well.

While you can develop a great site all on your own, with free support from P2, and reading all the tutorials, there is a faster and better way to get the specific help you need, at your own pace and speed.

There are several coaches who offer individualized instruction in the development and perfection of a p2 lead generating master site.  There is a page of preferred vendors you can review.  Check approved NLS Web Designers and Coaches at the link below:

I have been on p2a just over a month now. I have learned a lot in this short time. I do feel like I am in over my head at times. I take it one day at a time and learn a few new things everyday. I am slow in sales ru=ight now so instead of hanging my head low I have made it my mission to keep on going and learning even if it kills me..Sharon

So I just figured out how to link to a bookmark within the same page!  It is easy in FrontPage, which I used to build my other sites but there is no easy utility in P2 to create bookmarks within pages.  I found the info I needed on a forum, which a moderator provided to someone last year.  It was a confusing explanation and I spent about two hours figuring it out, but now I can link to areas of different pages within my P2 site...
