Good topic, I'm in the market too!  Just designing my custom signs and looking to get them made!  

Have you tried to negotiate with a local vendor. I've found that if I bring them an internet price, they are willing to bid to beat it.Then you can get them the same day without S&H.

I use Sign-A-Rama. They have pretty reasonable prices. I know there is one located in Boise. Not sure how far that is from you. Check them out.

After feeling the wallet sting, I am looking for a new vendor.  Great post!

I use Signs By Tomorrow and so far they have been very competitive and made great quality signs of all sizes and types of materials.

Ok,  now I went to a local vendor,  who quoted me for screenprinting my back window and they were VERY reasonable on THAT price.  HOwever, they wanted $75 each for two sided, hanging 18x24 aluminum or steel signs!  Surely that's WAY out of line on what they SHOULD be.  I can't imagine paying more than $50 each for them!?
