O wow, I get these e-mails all the time!

This one is more realistic than the ones I have received in the past.  Thank goodness for google.

I get these all the time, too. Remember what PT Barnum said, "I never cheated an honest man in my life."

I also received this in my e-mail this morning and I also googled the name and location.  It's match and Apo Village exists but I don't think a Senator is going to do it like this.

This is just another scam that sounds more realistic than others.

It's great that i could google him and i got your website about this scam.  What could really happen if I answer him, though?

So, I just got this same email yesterday and I am a newish agent so I replied and then got another reply!  Here it is below.  I just sent this all to my Broker.  What does this person have to gain?

Here is the email:

Greetings.Iam in appreciation for your prompt reversal to my mail.i implore you to

please handle my request with the seriousness and attention it requires  so as to be able to assure my family of their  continued safety.You will find included details of the home i require for my family and i have readily avaliable funds which will necesscitate a quick conclusion of the purchase.

I require the  very best for my family in the region of between $750,000 - $1,000,000 USD  .But first and foremost you have to locate the type of house i require.

I am making arrangements  for my wife  and my 3 children  to come over

 as soon as possible, this will avail  my wife the oppourtunity to inspect the

property and  sign all the necessary documents in regards to the home

purchase.

What I require is a single family house, with five rooms self contained, a

big kitchen, a car garage that can contain up to 3 cars, a flower

garden and also a swimming pool in a very secure neighbourhood or a

very expansive family home.  I will be happy if you  can put the pictures

together and send it to me.

I have to express my concerns in a loud and unambiguous tone ,the life of my family is no longer safe down hear in Nigeria , my powerful political opponents and their backers

want to assassinate me and my family,

they have made several attempts to assassinate us , but the almighty  God has

always been with us. You know when you are into politics you bound to

have a lot of enemies.

Please I want you  to assure me that you have the exposure, the temperament, the maturity, the competence and above all, the experience to steer the ship of locating and helping me to conclude the purchase.please, it is imperative that my plans be kept  very confidential let it just be between you and me as these are dangerous times and a few desperate politicians who have no compunctions whatsoever about human life, can go to disastrous levels to achieve certain objectives.

Those e mails are all over the net I would just ignore them and Not reply otherwise you will have a inbox full of junk.

Has anyone received a phone call from this person? I answered the second Email several days ago and have a Nigerian phone number in my caller ID. No message though.

I would not know a Nigerian phone number if I saw one, but I definitely got a weird "feedback" notice from my website (www.newportlandhome.com) that had a phone # that began with "0044779" and totally looked international (and questionable).

As there was no message, I didn't reply and either missed working with some really great folks from abroad, or a waste of time with would-be felons.

Gail...this thread has more legs than I ever imagined!  

L! That's funny! I got this too and was wondering if it was a hoax. Looks like it is! I wonder what happens if you take it a step further and send them homes. Probably will need you to pay for their flight or something.

This EXACT same message came to me as well.  At first, it almost seems legitimate, but after giving it some thought and dealing with other scammers in the past, I figured it was a hoax.  I mean why would some Nigerian "senator" contact me randomly to look for a property in a town he's never heard of?  I still don't see where their scam comes into play, but I feel certain it would be shady.  Thanks for the heads up!  Take care.

Got the same email. Very fishy, so I Googled it.  This could be a mess for anyone caught up in it.

Our office received the same email yesterday.  Our office Century 21 office is in upstate New York.. odd that it doesn't seem to matter where they relocate..

I am also in NY and I received the email and would love to help relocate the entire village, since they are apparently trying to relocate everyone across the entire US.  Just think, we could all work together to help them all find homes.  Wouldn't these showings be fun!

I've been receiving these emails and speaking with this person for weeks now, and I'm not sure what to do about the whole situation.  I've sent listings, he's chosen a house, and we've just gotten to the money business.  I try to ask questions to trip him up, but he hasn't fallen for a single one.

I just received the same email today, but it wasn't addressed to me, but ended up in my mail box. I Googled knowing it was a scam.

I received the first email from the same Sen Dahiru Kuta last Thursday. I thought it was fake, so I googled the name.  Of course, as already stated above, this person really exists. I had not run across this website until I googled again tonight, because of the second email I received that's similar to the one above of Danielle. Now thanks to this site, I will not respond so kindly.

I received this e-mail yesterday morning and replied, asking, who referred you to me? It did not have my name on it so I became suspicious. They have not responded.  How disgusting!
