Hello, Mr. Cochrane;

To download reports from my website, You need to check the box corresponding to the document you want to receive then put your email address on the boxes below. You will receive it in your email as attachments.

If you're married to a Filipina, you can buy a property under her name. Your name will appear in the title as the spouse. May I invite you to join an egroup about expats or foreigners planning to retire or move  to the Philippines. You will be able to meet/ talk with many of them who are married to Filipinos.

Am sure your wife will love to go back where her roots are.

Warm regards,

It 's just trying to draw money from foreigners.

I have the copy of the pertinent laws about owning a property here in one of the pages in my website.  http://www.greenhuts.net/Phil_Laws_on_Real_Estate/page_1720133.html

Well in the first place I would not even bothered to reply to any type of these e mails period.

And now that Mr  Larry Cochrane e mail address along with yours is now open for all to comment world wide, I would be prepared myself for more then you bargained for by posting it.

Remember this blog is on the world wide net for all to view.

Hi, Vance;

That was my first reaction, but he sent a second email maligning me and the Filipino people. If you're in my place, would you just ignore this?

But I am not ready to just let this go unnoticed. The world will know what kind of person that he is and avoid dealing with him. Maybe we have someone here who is a Realtor from Costa Rica.

WAtch out.

People like you is the reason why the Philippines is going down hill.

Corrupt and incompetent up to your bone marrow.

There are other better places in this world where we could purchase

a property, in peace and no hassle.

Ugly *** stinky ***.

There are many  people like this all over the world and to compound the problem even further by posting it on any media source only plays into there hands, I find if you ignore it, it to will go away.

My honest opinion on this subject, is this blog needs to disappear!!! it has no place here.. fight it out on your own and leave us (we) out of it.

Sorry for being so blunt but you has asked what (We ) or I would do.

It is very unprofessional... and turning  into an race issue.

Sorry you had to endure such abuse, Gigi.

The ONLY mistake you made (not at all addressing the posting which I semi agree with my Gumba, probably shouldn't have been posted but glad you did because other agents can learn from it) IMO was CONTINUING to respond to this abusive suspect-not-prospect.

Utilizing the 'block' feature in your e-mail program would have been the BEST response.

We do NOT have to work with everyone. This guy is a red flag PERIOD.

Client selection is the number one risk reduction technique. And this one doesn't want to buy. He just wants to complain.

Take a moment and pray for that guy's wife! LOL

Vance;

Thank you for your comments, but I did not start the race issue. I just want to know if others have encountered clients like this. I can hardly believe that there are people like him on earth.

I want to be objective and factual in my post that is why i posted everything including time it was sent.

Hope you wont encounter another one or someone who will trample you down at their feet. You probably wont know the feeling until it happened to you.

Candice;

Yes, I pity the wife. She's the first thing that cross my mind after reading his email. I thought of ignoring it, but then I need a venue to release the anger. LOL!!

Gigi, I must say that I agree with Vance. If you consider the source of the remarks you certainly couldn't say that this is a rational and intelligent person. Therefor, perhaps it is best to consider the source and ignore it. I know if I don't put any value in someones opinion, I really don't care what they say since it is meaningless.

Pity is probably a better venue than anger for both the wife and Mr. Cochrane. I would delete the post before you attract more haters.

Please don't misunderstand me, you call him a client, or is he just a customer? either way as far as e mail correspondents go.

Did Mr Larry Cochrane actual write the e mail that you  received could it have been someone else and Larry is taking the world wide hit for it?

e mails do have a way of hiding the real author, I get a ton of offers from the Nigerian Oil Minister wanting to give me millions!!

I have had many  off center encounters myself in this business and I have never shared any of them in an open forum.

As you may know by know there is another forum with the entire unedited version of this topic on the net already.

Thanks for sharing Gigi, I know you want us to be aware of the kinds of e-mails that could or would come across our inbox, and no I have never encountered what you went through.  I have however been propositioned like Vance to help someone in Africia with their money problems, you know, scam artists.

Take the advise given here ignore it you can't fight everyone who thinks and act like this person and answering him back is only fuel for the fire.

What I like to say when I encounter a bad client or customer is, "Next!" Life is too short to allow people like this to consume any of your time or effort. There are plenty of people out there that are a joy to work with and they deserve my time and effort.

Gigi -WOW what a nasty person !!! Life is to short to even deal with a person like that and I understand that it is not what you would get from the 100's of people we encounter in our daily life. I do believe that you took the stand and will move on. Some people just feel that we are the law at times and need to vent their anger in another way and that there are reasons why we have these laws.

I've had emails similar...when they get too abusive I just tell them, Great!  Be well and enjoy, I wish you the very best in the future.

End of story.

As a side note, I wouldn't have posted their email address online.

Yes. I have got many too. Crazy, but yes, just like spam. I ignore and delete immediate.

And a good point was brought up about the word client. We get accustomed to using that term, but I am careful even e-mailing other agents, etc....They are not your client until you form that relationship with them. They are a web lead, a prospect, etc....Once you use the word client, you have accepted a verbal commitment in their eyes to represent them. Please use that word lightly just as you would the LOVE word if you were dating. :)
