I use HP 1240 fax, scanner printer and have it set up seperately from my computer. This is great because I have 8150 photo hp printer for my computer and I can have 2 copiers going at the same time.

1240 was very reasonable priced and works very well, I only do black & white print on it.

The only draw back is it doesnt like the silky copies to fax.

The ink carts are very easy to refill and saves me a ton of $$$ ink.

I am using the HP5510 and so far so good. I do however get some comments that my faxes are not to readable. I have started just scanning in docs and using efax.

The ink could be a little cheaper too :)

Let mix it up. I use a Brother 7820N laser all in one that works flawlessly (well, almost, the fax doesn;t get along with my home answering machine very well, they are in therapy) It even came with Scan Snap software to scan directly to pdf. It is B & W only though. I print colour at the office.

It is a must for real estate.  Scans double sided  and in color!!!  Turns docs straight into a pdf.  VERY COOL  I bought mine on ebay for around $350

Not a printer just a scanner, but it is better to have it seperate.  You put to many functions in one machine and they will not be of good quality.    You are best to have a priner and a scanner.  

For a printer I have the Konica Minlota Majicolor 2530 DL.  This is a color laser printer.  Does a great job.  I really like this printer.  Only problem is the cost of the tonor.   The printer is $250 from Sams Club.  The tonor is around $100 a color!!  I usually will replace the black once and then I will replace the printer.  Sell the old one on ebay.

My Xerox WorkCentre 2424C does everything beautifully except the fax part. Doesn't bother me because if I can scan to e-mail, I usually don't need a fax. I lease mine via FreeColorPrinters.com and pay only for the ink . . . 200/month. That's what I paid per month for my HP which always jammed and made only adequate copies on the best day.

For all in one, at home I have a Brother 5460CN which also does well, EXCEPT I have had trouble with occasional paper jams. I think a part of that is using recycled or cheap paper. Doesn't happen very often . . .

I highly reccommend the HP 5610 All-in-one. I have used it both at home and at the office for the last 15 months and not had any issues with it. The auto document feeder is a life saver for those 10+ page contracts. The All-in-one software is also great. Allows you to save scans in pdf format. Costs vary fro around $100 to $130.

I'm using a Dell 920. Scans (into PDF too), prints color or B/W, and copies flawlessly. For faxing, I have a 2nd land line and one is dedicated to FAX only. Using Sharp USX-B700. I'm looking for an all in one since I am unable to scan or copy legal size on the Dell 920.

Look at the websites for Dell, HP, Panasonic, Brother, and check out Sam's Club or Costco. They are reasonable. This is for my home office. At the real office we have HP Laser All-In_ones. Be lying to tell you the model.

Wow, what variations! I use a Canon PIXMA mp780. It scans,prints,faxes,copies (legal, too.) and has a feature that I can print photos directly from the memory stick of my camera. It was under $300. from staples.com.  I buy the ink cartridges from a recycle shop..think green!

My question is do you have a internet based phone system? We have had similar problems with the internet based phone system and once we went back to using a land line all problems sending faxes stopped!

I've had My HP 5610 at home about 15 months and the one at the office about 8 months. A fellow Realtor at the offic also got one about 4 months ago.
