Happy Thanksgiving and may you all have a great day. So great you won't see this post till tomorrow. Thank you all for the entertainment and sharing of so much knowledge.
Gloria
Happy Thanksgiving to you, too, Gloria and all my "family" at P2!
Thanks Gloria!
We already celebrated Thanksgiving here in Canada, but maybe I'll have a turkey club or something to celebrate with y'all :)
Happy Thanksgiving Gloria and all. I am thankful for you all.
Happy Thanksgiving to you also, Gloria. And to all my friends here at RELib!
Carey, next year I'm going to try to remember that Canada's T-Day is in October! I'd be interested to learn if your holiday is basically the same as ours. Who were the first Canadians (or people in Canada...we weren't really "Americans" yet when we first celebrated it...) to celebrate it? What marked the occasion, and most importantly what is the special dinner fare up there? Know that, if it's too tempting, you many need to put out an extra setting at the dinner table for me next year!
And to all those who do not celebrate Thanksgiving, I hope this time brings you peace and that you are able to spend many hours with your friends and family.
Happy Thanksgiving to all. Turkey and football...doesn't get much better than that.
Yes Carey, give us a history lesson, I am curious also.
Thanks very much Phil - your words are appreciated.
Our Thanksgiving has more to do with giving thanks for a successful harvest - winter comes more quickly (and angrily) in Canada, so our harvest comes earlier than yours.
The fare up here is very similar - the bird, the mashed potatos, the gravy, the yucky cranberries . . .
In some ways I envy the American timing, because on the second Monday in October, we are certainly not yet in 'holiday mode' and so we don't have the same kickoff to the holiday season that the timing of American Thanksgiving provides.
Also - GO RIDERS!
Dinner is not until 5:30 Gloria. But, you're welcome to come.
My dinner's much later, too, Gloria but I'll set an extra place for you and anyone else!
In deference to Shelley, with whom I have had a little spat about who hosted the first Thanksgiving:

Don't say I'm not in a "giving" mood, Shelley!
Happy Thanksgiving to all!
Certainly not a spat Catz, just a "defining" of the moment!! We get a little jealous down here in Virginny with all the talk of New England, and then you won the war between the states... We need something to hang our hat on : )
