P2 owns Reliberation ...

By: Howard Arnoff
Thursday, October 18, 2007 8:22 AM

... not you or I by posting here. Reliberation owns and hosts this site and if you post on a community site such as this, Active Rain, Seeking Alpha, or the many other community blogs and forums on the Internet, it does not give you ownership. You only own your content when you are the registered owner of your site.

I've been amused by the antics here recently and sadly, it is one of the many reasons I haven't been here in a while. I would like to add that I do miss the many friends that I have met here.

Howard,

I have found many helpful tips here, and I enjoy posting tips of my own for others to use. I will NOT let the 1% of childness acts by someone in here to stop me from finding good information and giving good information to all who are focused in the real estate world. I do hope you stay and post with the rest of the 99% of good helpful agents. Just my 2 cents...

Howard--it's good to see your smiling face!

There is no need to stay away completely, just be choosy about the blogs in which you choose to participate.

I really hope someone stops this before it gets out of hand. Most of us here are positive about real estate and each other. I do not believe this is or should be a sounding board for negativity. I feel that if you do not have anything good to say, then say nothing at all. The last time I looked, we are all professionals and most of us act like it....

Howard, ol buddy ol pal, good to see you again. I know you have been busy and this place has lost its luster because of the agitation, but I think we can pull together and get the bully off the playground.

Mary, did you get my email a couple of weeks ago, the first one bounced back with a bad address.

I thought I was one of the bullies :)

Vance, thanks for the laugh, I always appreciate your sense of humor, your skill at video and the wonderful info you bring to the party. Very timely as we offer to bid goodbye to a purple j*ck*ss. (* = a)

Cathy, what a nice compliment I noticed on another thread, thank you. And once again thank you to the many kind folks who have written such nice comments today.

I enjoy this place so much.  We're all responsible for our own education and there are so many resources, but this is an eclectic and knowledgeable group, smaller than some of those other sites, where everybody knows your name, your personality, and your quirks.

I'd like to see some others return because I miss them, too.  Todd Clark, Ron Tarvin, Becky Troutt, et al.  I could name them all but that would be a run-on sentence!

At the risk of being accused of hubris.....

I left for some different reasons than some of the others, first of all and thankfully, I was very busy getting some sales closed in September so that I can pay my bills :)

I had a closing delayed from Sept 7 to Oct 1 but two others closed reasonably uneventfully at the end of September though one took some hand holding, new construction that wasn't going as well as promised or expected.

Having said that, I will be very honest here. It was getting very stale here and I said as much in an email to Miss Mary. As to blogging, I have always spent a significant time posting to my personal website. Since I started last November when P2 added the feature, I have posted over 250 items. I read a lot of what is going on in the greater real estate blogosphere.

As I tried to indicate in my post, this is not your blog, it is P2's. This is social networking and as Seinfeld would say, not that there is anything wrong with that. But I noticed a few people wanting to get blogging hints and my last post before this current post was Seth talking about the importance of blogging. That should not be confused with Seth and the purple J*ck*ass that another member has consistently demonstrated himself to be.

I'm very appreciative of all the wonderful welcome backs and positive comments that I've received today, I will try and stop by from time to time and I encourage everyone to not just post here but on their own site as well.

Interestingly (I hope), I am going to post here in just a few minutes about that very subject and the potential issues with your own real estate blog.
