Tampa Bay Condos

Nothing to do with real estate. Everything to do with being american and a human being. I am disgusted with health insurance. My family of five has coverage for a family of four. My wife was declined last year for potential kidney stones. My premium is about $380 per month for an Health Savings Account. Know what that is? A $3800 before the plan pays one cent. Since fortunately, nothing has ever happened. We never meet our deductible. All doctors office visits are out of pocket. We take the kids for their regular check ups, but guess who never goes to see a doctor - me and my wife.

Hey insurance dimwits - compare preventative care to the alternative and see what’s cheaper.

I just got a new quote to add my wife. $500 per month. I compared to the National Association of Realtors (NAR) health insurance quotes. . NAR quoted $380 for same plan. When I talked to my agent, he said that was for new business only. United Healthcare jacks up the premium on existing business and I would not be eligible for that rate.

Now add the way the military is treating the returning wounded and disabled soldiers. It would take someone with their head buried in the sand not to realize there is a profound problem with healthcare in this country.

How do we fix it? Easy. Take away health care from the only group of Americans with a great plan. Eliminate health insurance for congress and the other branches. Let them deal with the same BS as everyone else. See how fast the healthcare problem gets fixed.

Last week, during my floor time, a young man walks in. Dressed casually.  says he wants to buy a home or condo and price is no object. He had just been in west pallm beach and almost bought a 1.8 mill home there.  He stated he was a cash buyer and produced a bank statement showing a little under 5 million in an account under his name.  He states his father was a doctor who had just passed away.

He has no teeth.  He states during our conversation he just returned from Iraq. A roadside bomb had damged his mouth and he found his false teeth to be uncomfortable.

His car was a tricked out scion.

I showed him several nice homes. He chose a 1.7 mill home on the water. We returned to the office and spent an hour drafting an offer with all the addendum. cash deal, two to three week close.  Before faxing the offer, I requested his drivers license.   He said it was in the car and went to get it.  He then just got in his car and left.

If he was casing homes, he picked homes with big dogs on premises- which doesnt make sense.  I dont understand why anyone would waste time like that.

Should you match your clients, match the lifestyle you represent. Maybe match the mortgage broker wearing a suit and tie.  I have seen everything from jeans and flip flops to Hawaiian shirts to suits.   Some try to get branded by what they wear.  Obviously, you want to be professional, but is a golf shirt and khakis enough  or does it cost you clients?

I currently participate with handshake and this seems to provide plenty of listings on my site.  On previous non NLS sites  I have used both a free IDX through Planet Realtor  and one that costs money (of course) through the local realtor board.   Do you find these of value in attracting visitors and repeat visitors?  Does IDX affect SEO?
I am still confused. I undestand the state/US/world rankings - the lower the better.  What about the exact score?  Do I want a high score or a low score?  Does anyonee use this ranking to determine handshake relationships?
