Is there a way to display listings by type?

I would like to display both my listings as well as the handshake listings by type. Such as lakefronts, houses on acreage, hunting property, etc. Is there something I'm missing? It seems like I read another post where someone divided their listings by neighborhood. Thank you in advance.

Hi Jackie,

I believe we can do that. I am planing to separate waterfront listings. I think when you set up the page you can check any preferences you want to sort by.  You'll have to check it out, I haven't tried it yet. Good Luck, let me know how you make out.

Hi,

The choices are pretty limited. I have a couple P2 sites, and I an "up north" page on one of them. But haven't found a way to seperate by waterfront, neighborhood, farms, etc. I don't know if I'm just missing a step. Sometimes I can work on something for hours and when I finally figure it out, it was usually something that was right in front of me the whole time.

If you figure it out, please let me know. And if I figure it out, I will surely pass it along.

Go to the module where you select which listings are to be displayed.  You are limited in the sort methods.  I have been able to separate my beachside properties from mainland properties only because they are broken down into different selling areas.  You can break it down by selling area, type (residential, commercial, condo, etc.), I think you can do new construction, rentals.  Just look at the different fields available.  Those are your limitations.

When you add a listing page to your site you can select the option " Configure which Listings Show and their Display Format " below Header ..

This will open a configuration page and you can go down to Step 5 which says Filter the Results . Here you select the field Type and tick on the Radio button Specify Types which is next to All .

Now you can select one from the six types of Properties.

I think this gives you some room for filtering the results displayed on your Listings Page.

I have used this method for my Commercial Properties , Land , Bungalows etc.

Hope this helps. Cheers !!

Jackie,

You can add a "listings" module then configure listings display, check all listings, registration leave unchecked, show map you can check or not,

customize listing summary again whatever your preference, now expand all of the fields under the filters and choose the appropriate fields for instance types will allow you to add farms or condos or land, then choose locations. I hope this helps. Maybe lakefront, waterway, etc could be added to the description fields in listings input.

Hello,

And thanks for the input. But when I get down to #5 I can specify residential, recreational, farm/acreage, commercial, condo, co-op.

On the next line development levels of new construction.

Then styles - apartment, bungalow, colonial, commercial, duplex, single story, etc.

No place to specify waterfront, properties on say 5 plus acres or 10 plus acres. A lot of homes in my area can be on acreage and still considered residential. I can't find a way to specify by price.

I would like to have a page on lakefront homes and add lake and recreation info to the same page.

I would like to have searches separated by price - houses under $100K, houses from $100k-$200K, etc.

I would like to have an equestrian area. I have an area already about hunting and fishing and would like to add properties that would suite those viewers.

If those options don't currently exist, hopefully someone from P2 is reading these posts and taking some of our suggestions into consideration.

P2 already offers so much, I'm surprised I'm not able to do what I've described above.

I agree jackie with 38 lakes in Leelanau county alone it's difficult when people prefer to search by body of water or acreage.  those 2 areas alone would make me happy.
