I'm curious, do you use all of your designations behind your name?

I'm sure that many of you seasoned Realtors have earned numerous designations.  You probably don't want the 'alphabet soup' look.  Do you use the ones that are most important to you?  Do you change them in different marketing materials? Just wondering........

I have several different signatures that highlight different designations, depending on who I am addressing myself to (eg Accredited Buyer Representative to a Buyer for instance).

I just use ABR, I wasn't very impressed with my e-pro designation after finishing the course and learning very little.

I took the abr and epro course. However I was already involved ion internet marketing years prior to getting into real estate. You may have learned very little because you already knew much of the material. If that is the case you shold use it. At the very least it mens you went the extra mile to learn and improve your services which says much for your devotion. People wear those letters proudly you earned the right.

I even made up a new one P2AP

(Point 2 agent professional) who knows could happen.

I think Doug seems to be going in that direction. We have the CBR designation here and it is not recognized by nar but it is just as affective as the

ABR as far as the education value

Go for it Thomas.  Make up your own.  Almost nobody in the public outside of real estate knows what any of it means.  We are only impressing each other.

Too many things after your name sounds pompous and egotistical to many people.

How about:  ACE (Almost Certified Everything).

Having all of those designations doesn't prove that you give great service. I learned long ago that LDD designation behind my name meant just as much as all of the big fancy ones.....for you that can't figure out what that means...here goes....La Dee Daa........just get your education and put it to work and no one will question you with what designations you have. Being a professional at what you do doesn't require that you flaunt titles or designations. People don't care how much you know until they know how much you care.....so go to work, get all of  the education you can for your trade and sell, sell, sell.

Never mind the public not knowing what the designations mean. I don't even know what most of them mean. We have some agents in our area that list every letter in the alphabet (or at least it seems like that) and I just have to laugh at it. If most of the agents don't know what they mean, how do you expect the public to know.

Not that I am against them. I do believe in continuing education for agents and my hats off to those that have earned these designations. We need to educate the public as to what they mean. If you have the designations maybe you should list them on your web sites with  explanation as to what they are and what is involved in achieving these designations. Couldn't hurt.....

When working on a commercial deal - I always use mine (business owners think the epro is hot - I think it was a waste of $$$).  When working residential I don't use anything...it's that arrogance factor I want to avoid.

Bottom line - use what you are comfortable with...but DON'T make up your own...that's arrogance to the max!
