One thing I have noticed as I begin implementing my new SE marketing approach is that connectivity between front page hotlink, landing page and related blog does some positive things to search engine placement. Within just a few days I have gone from page 6-10 to 1 and 2 for the targets I set. The keywords seem to be subordinated, although important, to the overall connectivity of the target.
In other words, the front page hotlink is keyword specific, the landing page is specific content with a link to more specifics, and the blog is general information with sprinkled keywords. Perhaps Jay can confirm the deep links – no more than three?
On two targets I have gotten two placements, one a blog, the other a landing page, on the first page of the search engine for fairly popular search terms.
Just passing along the progress. I have a friend who does webpage design for a living who is going to help me stylize this approach so that the esthetics are more pleasing to the reader. Right now it is more basic function than pretty.
My goal is to bump out lead generation companies for placement.
I am still getting good results from PPC, too. I have put a lot of effort into ad design and effective keywords.
The end result is that I am getting more buyers calling and e-mailing me. I am working on conversion to a check at the closing table at the same time by farming out the follow-up to a dedicated follow-up person based on a bonus/performance system.
The conversions are getting better – they will be even better once the buyers-in-the-wings sell their homes. J
