Ideas for Christmas / New Year's gifts for past clients?

Christmas and the New Year are almost here and just as every year, I've been thinking about what gift to send to my past clients. Knowing that some people may not celebrate Christmas, I don't usually send Christmas cards or anything like that but rather wait till just the very end of the year and send out something to wish everyone a happy 200?. Last two years, I sent out these nice large boxes of chocolates ... if you have any Polish (or other European ... not sure about other nations) stores in your area, stop by there. You'd be amazed what amazing variety you can get for vary reasonable price!

This year, I've been thinking about sending out books ... I bought a hole bunch of nice home improvement, home decorating, and gardening books that I want to mail to my past clients. It's something that will last them longer than chocolates and I can attach my business cards to the books as well.

What do you usually do, if anything? Any ideas that your clients enjoy?

I send a mix CD of holiday (not Xmas) music.  Some old faves like Rudolph and Frosty the Snowman, Winter Wonderland, funky ones that some have never heard of.  I record a little intro at the beginning wishing them a happy holiday season and prosperous new year and put my customized label on them.  In fact, that's what I'll be doing the rest of this week - burning CD's.

I really like the home improvement book idea! good thinking. Why don't you just hand write a simple dedication on the first page, sign it then intall a "personal" bookplate? Should be easy to design and print up. Thank you...all the way from Texas!

Thanks, Anna. I "bought out" the store (I think it was Borders) when they had them on sale ... real nice big books that were originally around $30 and I got them for less than six bucks. Even my hubby begged me for one.

Michaela - If you decide to burn CD's it's even more fun creating your own AUTO OPEN file and personalizing it. Here is the one that I made several years back and still use it. It's not too hard to do but I had some duds when newer Windows programs came on the market and I needed to add some additional .dll files to get it to automatically open. Windows ME was the worst but I finally figured out what I was missing and now all my CD's have every .dll for every operating system. The three tabs in the photo are animated and drop down from the top.

Michaela - I sent you a response to your invite that I was spending the day in Broker's CE class in Antioch that day and also taking the tests afterwards for the online CE that I studied for. I got all the results and passed everything so now I will have to stay in this business another two years ;-) Maybe we can do lunch before the Holiday at Mama's again.

For some reason your response never showed up on my system. Congrats on staying for another 2 years :-). I'm done with the broker management class, just have to take the test for the rest of the CE ... doing the home study version.

We should definitely do lunch before the Holidays!
