Well, I can be a little dense sometimes.
It has just occured to me that I have made the campaign for bettter blogger behavior at RElib into the proverbial DISTRACTION ROCK that blocks my own path. If you don't know what I am talking about see THIS POST about blasting at rocks vs chasing our dreams.
My error came from taking RElib's stated mission at face value, and from a lifelong passion for managing reputation (as befits any brand building marketer).
I never wanted to see RElib as a distraction. I want to see it as a bright hope. My passion for our noble profession keeps me wanting to campaign for better language and more respectful treatment of each other with full consideration that we are in the public eye.
I happen to be embarrased for the profession and reputation of all Realtors when I read some of these threads. It has been said that I am perhaps too sensitive. Perhaps this is so... But I submit that interpersonal sensitivity helps us be good Realtors....
Anyway, I realize that this rock (Blogger behavior at RElib) does not have to move for me to climb my mountain. I have erred in wanting to change this place or wanting to change any of you. It is up to me to climb my mountain and not let this rock stop me.
Please forgive me if my passions and hopes and sense of propriety rubbed you the wrong way.
I shall go to seek my peace and place among those wonderful souls who buy and sell homes in spite of the news or the trends or the economy, or the direction of the wind.
