Have you added your point2 virtual tour to the Realtor.com or your MLS

If not you must read this, it will save you few hours of work.

As point2 rolled in their new feature of link to the branded and non branded virtual tour, my first instinct was to add it on to Realtor.com ( I do have their showcase listing package) and my local MLS.

I called www.Realtor,com  and was told that I had to go through point2, as I called point2 was referred back to Realtor.com. This time got a helpful person who referred me to their virtual tour department.

Agents with point2 sites would have to do the following to add  virtual tour to www.Raltor.com

        Call customer service at Realtor.com

        Ask for virtual tour team

Tell them that you are your own virtual tour provider and would like to be a partner with their “Picture Pathway”.

They will send you email agreement for privacy and you give them a sample url of your virtual tour.

It will take you 5-7 working days to be a partner from their on you will be able to add your virtual tour without any delay and no fee for it.

I just spoke with our SOCAL MLS representative. As point2 agents we are now the vendors of our own virtual tour, system did not recognize my url as provider, so I have to send in the link to MLS they will evaluate it, if yes from their on I will be able to add on link directly.

Realtor.com and MLS are going to have to authorize lot of vendors from point2, these are just few hoops to jump but I love the  virtual tour by point2

Thanks for the info Namneet.

Do you know what it costs for the Showcase package on Realtor.com, and is it necessary to have that package to get the VTs posted for free?

Just out of curiosity, why wouldn't you MLS allow your Point2 Virtual Tour?

Jay, cost of showcase homes is based upon yourhistory of number of listings per year. I like it because I can add additional discription, advertiize open house and it also gives me stats about the clicks that I can show to the seller, plus it feeds into different websites, so just another way to advertise and reasonable fee. I do not know if it is necessary to have that package for VT.

Jay, just found out about the fee for virtual tour, it is waved for the agents who have showcase package (realtor.com), others would have to pay the monthly fee and they do not want that fee schedule be circualted, according to the contract.

But one thing I could say that point2 is a great tool, the ones who are not professional members yet I do not know what they are waiting for.

Just a note that Point2 is working with Realtor.com to make this seamless.  That is, automatically link your virtual tours on Realtor.com.  The obvious benefit is traffic, but secondly, we want to have all the traffic stats for your listing in one online office for you.  There is no eta, but it's being worked on right now.

I have entered 6 tours into my MLS and was able to do it without contacting anyone.

I went to add virtual media (we are with Rapattoni) and on the point2 tours on the go just copied the URL info and pasted it into the space provided it asks if it is a virtual tour 2 and I said yes.

I tried the branded and not branded to see if there were any problems with either one and they both worked. ( I really like the Point2 innovations )

I don't know if this works for all MLS systems but it went without a hitch.

No time right now to finish the rest of my listings but so far so good.

I had to contact my MLS to add url for the unbranded VT. They denied it because of the link to Poiint2. We will be fined $100 for submitting a non authorized VT or pics with contact info.

I got my VT on SOCALMLS successfully, email I got from MLS says my tour already exists there. This is a great success for point2 also being able to provide their agents with the ability to add their own virtual tour to the nations second largest MLS.
