Real Estate is a Pleasure!

When I first got into residential real estate here in Portland, Oregon, I was expecting to interact with a bunch of snobby individuals and catty attitudes.  What I found was quite the contrary.

To this day, with a rare exception, the agents, principle brokers, escrow officers, inspectors and lenders I work with are kind, polite, accommodating, and understanding.  It continues to validate my choice in professional direction.

Personally, as I'm sure most do, I try my best to take the "Golden Rule" approach, treating all as I would like to be treated.  I do find occasions where I may react to an agent's bad behavior with less "Gold" and more "Vinegar", but again, it's a rarity.   And I think that when I do run into someone that could use a refresher course in Manners 101, that experience with them just makes me a better agent.  Maybe even a better person.

From time to time, I try to remind myself of my good fortune to work with a very large group of folks (over 7,000+ here in Portland Metro) who, almost to a person, are supportive of me, my clients and my business.

I feel the same way. I was very surprised when I entered this field. I expected the industry to be cut throat, but found it's really not quite like that. It is sink or swim, but in a friendly environment. Realtor's in El Dorado County, CA treat one another as colleagues rather that adversaries. Most really do want to see you succeed. I find that when I am kind and considerate, I am treated likewise. I think this is because we are all quite similar. We are all dreamers who are not afraid to go after our dreams.

Having just completed my first year in real estate... I find myself more passionate about my career than I ever would have dreamed!  I entered this field with my eyes opened wide... my skin tough as leather... and determined to learn all I could learn.

I've learned too, Phil, that with "rare exception"... my fellow agents and support professionals are darned near as passionate about providing excellent customer service to Sandpoint and Northern Idaho as I truly am :)

Bringing all the skills I have acquired from my past career & life experiences has channeled me the opportunity to provide premier real estate services.  It is a JOY to share the offerings of our beautiful community... and the satisfaction of knowing that I am a major source of assistance to folks making their dreams come true brings me emmense pleasure.

Here's to a GREAT 2007.............
