Philz, I contribute time in the community. It doesn't pay well, and I wonder why sometimes, but I believe to earn the right to complain, we have to be willing to invest ourselves. I am talking local government here.

It is very very GOOD to have side work that supplements the main gig. Sometimes it's not feasible, in the case of a conflict of interest. But if you can get a separate but symbiotic thing going, it is a very good thing.

Candice, yes you do with an awesome voice. Whoohoo.

I have a website that sells RE related "stuff" geared to the newer agent - scripts, brain washing cd's, fsbo methods, etc.

I also do community service work - mentor at risk teen girls at the local alternative high school.

In my spare time (what's that), I clean my house - doesn't pay at all, but my hubby likes it and he's the big money guy in my house (oh yea, and I love him, too).

I have some sales management responsibilities in my office which provides a little extra cash and a lot of additional headaches. :)

I play on eBay, but think I spend much more then I sell LOL... But I do buy and sell most of my paperback books on Half.com.  So not sure that is making any money but it does save me a couple of bucks.  Does that count?

I have another job that is totally different from real estate!  I work for the as a juvenile probation officer!  On the surface one may think that this has absolutely nothing to do with real estate, but I argue that it does.  One thing that this job has in common is that I work with lots of different people, families, and agencies throughout the state and those same people all have to live somewhere, right!  I suppose it doesn't hurt that I also get a steady income and benefits!

I do alot of service work in my community, no pay in $$ but mucho pay in heart!

I write books. It doesn't pay much, but it scratches an itch. Hubby has a small business on the side. (Residential cleaning service; ties in, yes?)

Michael - a steady income and benefits is a beautiful thing. It's been years since we saw anything like that in our family!

I write mysteries. Funny ones (at least they're supposed to be funny). My first won't be published until next year, though. It's about a New York designer who inherits a house in a small town in Maine and decides to renovate it to make some money. She thinks she can spend a few weeks and few thousand dollars whipping the house into shape, but of course things start going wrong right away. My deadline for turning it in is November, so I'm frantically trying to finish, with another 15000-20000 words to go. The tentative title is FATAL FIXER-UPPER, and it will be published by Berkley Prime Crime in November next year, under a pseudonym. Not a guy-book at all, sorry, Tim.

Don't worry, Phil. When the time comes, I'll spread the word. Thanks for the interest, y'all!
