I'm up in the air on this one. I can't decide between GPS, Blackberry phones with instant access to my email where ever I go or unlimited hotspot at home...
What tech device are you most attached to and why?
What's the deal with the pingback??
Anyway, I can't live without my Garmin NUVI GPS & my Motorola Q.
My Crackberry.
My Pager!!!!!! How long have I been in the business. I need to update on tools. Do I really need a cell phone?
Ditto Candice... My Crackberry.
Seriously, wass up with all the pingbacks?
A cell phone is a must of course. I have my Motorola Q and it's ok, but the tool I can't live without is my TomTom. A few weeks ago, I had to show 16 houses in 2 days. The houses were in the area that I was unfamiliar with. The GPS took me from door to door without a glitch.
I can't imagine printing out directions and following them, especially if there's construction on the road.
TomTom GPS - $300
Gas spent in 2 days - $50
Showing all 16 houses on time - PRICELESS
Candice ~ LOL on the CRACKBERRY! :)
I actually gave up my crackberry 2 years ago...was on vacation in Yellowstone and missed the start of Old Faithful erruption because I was reading email. Yikes! Withdrawal was tough, but one day at a time.
Definately my Blackberry Pearl w/camera and mp3 player. Drowns out the whining in the office...lol! and wi-fi. Need wi-fi everywhere. I swear, if a politician wants my vote just tell me he will make the city wireless and I am in.
Also really appreciate the automatic coffee maker - it still seems high tech to me...
As for GPS - best one I have seem is the my-gig in my ex's Chrysler car - you just gave it voice commands and you were all set. I miss that - not so much the ex though... too bad he did not do as well with the voice commands ;)
Wi-fi is the greatest invention since toilet paper.
I just got a crackberry and am hopelessly hooked.
The pingbacks are coming from "scraper sites". They basically steal content and repost is on a blog full of Google ads. The thought is it will drive traffic to those sites and people will click the ads, making the site owner money. I get dozens of them on my blog every day. They are lowlife spammers, nothing more.
I'll add to Jay's accurate assessment - these pingbacks are an exploitation of what can be a very good and useful feature of a blog platform - the pingback is intended to tie related blog posts together so that if you want to read someone else's take on the same subject, you can follow along with the 'conversation' very easily.
In this case though, yes - worthless spam.
Big Cheif Tablet and # 2 pencil. Sometimes it just feels good to go back to the old ways and write it down. I find that if I write it down, I will remember it. Don't have to worry about which font its in either.
My iRobot Vacuum - love it!
Cindy ~ I've got to get me one of those. Do they really work well?
This week it's defnitely Wi-Fi for me. Some of you know I've been sick for almost a week now and had it not been for having wi-fi in my house, I'd be bored to death! This way I can kick back on the couch and stay connected with the world!
Used to be that I thought GPS was the greatest invention, but ever since my GPS lost its voice (for some unknown reason it became mute about a year ago), it's no longer as great of a toy for me as it used to be. Plus, if you just want to get an idea of some area, I find it a lot easier to find my way around using a good old map instead. ... not a typical female, am I? :-)
I am helpless without my smartphone (PPC6700). Right up there with that is my laptop. Like Trista, I love my thermal coffeemaker. I have a sign above it of a cat with a mug and he is saying, "Before my morning coffee..... I might as well be a dog."
I could not function without my palm TREO, my digital camera, and my all-in-one printer, scanner, copier, fax-phone from HP.
My GPS is built into my car, and I LOVE it.
Every other device seems somewhat expendable... Laptop computers are nice, and I use one, but there is always a desktop computer somewhere... Of course, I would not try to be in this business without some kind of computer, but there are agents who rely on broker supplied computers.
Sonic room measuring gadjets are nice.
A good web site is a necessity. Is that a device? Maybe not. P2 is the best, IMHO.
Photoshop is very useful to edit photos, but that might not be a "device" either.
Blackberry, hands down.

My Treo and my laptop.
I agree with Sue...I can't do business without my Treo. It has GPS, email, wireless access, etc. Way Kool! Everything you need in one.
My Smartphone from sprint: Mogul by HTC
Window Mobile 6, instant email access, text messaging is a breeze, built in camera, easy slide keyboard access, wi-fi, bluetooth, 400mhz, GPS....I just got a rush typing that
My Tom Tom is a strong second.
My E-Fax is number three
Blackberry with enterprise server runs my entire life.
Yes Yes Yes Chantal (regarding the iRobot) - it was the best gift I ever received...it works and you don't have to!
Cindy
Thanks Cindy...I'm letting Santa know that I should be receiving one of those this year for Christmas! Hopefully he doesn't think I have been naughty.
About the iRobot. I bought one off eBay a while back. It was remanufactured. I've bought lots of things remanufactured and never had a bit of trouble and saved $$$ too. Well, this one is different. Although there is a 90 day warranty on the remanufactured iRobot, the iRobot company doesn't honor it on items bought on eBay! The guy I bought it from won't refund and so I'm stuck...out 150 bucks. Lesson learned...check out the manufacturer's site about 2 things - remanufactured products AND ebay.
