Where is Marketing Going ?

By: Peter Pfann
Friday, October 19, 2007 2:52 PM

Curious to find out where you all think we should be looking for in the future, as far as marketing, prospecting, and business retention, without selling the farm.

With the increase of the referral for a fee type businesses on and off line, is that a direction that is now an accepted method for you all to operate and to grow your business.

Or put in a slightly way, is it the accepted future to pay for so so, better and or great leads, in this market or in any type of market?

Looking forward to your thoughts and feedback.

Have aPfanntastic Week

Sorry Peter - you can dress these people up, but you can't take them anywhere, much less keep them on topic :)

In my personal opinion, paying for leads is not a very good long-term strategy - now or in the future.

Or on a plane or on a train or on in a house or with a mouse, Sam I Am.

That's the beauty of creating your own website - if you pay for leads, you just have to keep paying for leads.  If you instead build a solid, lead-generating website (which admittedly takes time and effort), it will keep on "filling the hopper" in perpetuity.

Good luck and welcome.

Phefer Phifer Phiffed a Pheck of Phickeled Phepers......LOL we agree with Carey, when your P2 website is starting to get attention you will not need Ultra Stats, you will get 10 Phold the amount of calls from lead generating companies!

Peter,

I totally dig your name and the marketing possibilities in presents!!!!!

See what happens when you post a serious question on PFunky PFriday?  All the pfreaks come out to haze you... all in good pfun of course.

Regarding your question, I just cannot fathom why anyone would buy leads today when it is relatively easy to generate your own in basically the same way the lead aggravators (pun intended) do it... via the internet.

As you well know having been a P2 member since '04, a good website and well placed internet ads can generate as many leads as you could want or be able to work effectively anyway... why pay someone else to do what I can do myself for less and had a higher return?

Good to have you with us, Peter.  I'm looking forward to learning lots of new ideas from you!

Tim

Peter you will also notice that a good pfun blog will get hijacked.

Save your money from online prospecting scams.  You already have a great online tool, your P2 website.  Go back to the basics.  Meeting and greeting.  With all the negative media lately it is more important to get out and talk to the people.  As far as what the future holds you will need to check that out with Candice.

Welcome aboard!
