We need an Opt-in Form on our websites

I previously posted this request on the message board with no response. Hopefully, everyone would agree with the suggestion and Point 2 will respond. As we all agree, we have websites to market ourselves and our listings but it is an important tool to capture leads. It is great to see our website statistics increase but we need a mechanism to capture leads. An Opt-in form is a great tool to capture the lead then you can automatically place the lead in the drip campaign. You can entice leads to sign up for a newsletter, ebook, real estate updates etc. This system is currently available when clients request free reports but I would like to see the opt in form as a standalone lead capture that can be placed on your front page. Your feedback is requested. Thank you.

Sorry I can't agree, an opt out form is necessary, anyone who fills out any request or form is by its nature, "opting in". Don't give the government even more barriers in the name of protecting consumers, just take a look at what's happening to Jet Blue today.

Do you mean they should register to get on the site?  If so, I don't agree either.  I myself hate sites like that and just go elsewhere where it's not necessary.  I do put my leads on a drip email.  Often if they will provide their email address and phone number without really having to, you know they are a half decent lead.

Sorry, it seems that my post was confusing. I am talking about creating a form to capture the lead, such as: Sign up for our newsletter or ebook etc.. Thanks.

You can easily make your own.  I use wufoo for a couple of different forms I have on my site.  You can make 3 forms for free with them.

Here's an idea that may help you capture more leads ( I think this works):

Log in to your Point2Agent web site.

The 1st thing you need to do is set up a new Prospect Group.

Click on Prospects at the top of the page, then click on Groups.  Click on Add a Prospect Group and name it whatever you want to name it.  I named mine "Newsletter."

Now you're going to set up a new drip email, so click on Drip Email.

At the bottom of the page, click on Add a Custom Campaign.

Select the check box for "Activate Custom Drip.

Name your Drip Campaign, i.e. Newsletter or All My Prospects, etc.

Select ALL the Triggers.  This will add any prospect who does anything on your web site from downloading a free report to mailing a listing.  The idea here is to capture as many emails and names as you can.

Scroll down the page and set up ONE email that will automatically be sent whenever anyone activates any of the triggers that you selected above.  It's an autoresponder.  I set mine up as a "Thank you for visitiing my web site... blah, blah" type of email.

Delete the other blank drips that are below the 1st one.  You only want ONE email to be sent.

Click the OK Button.  This will take you back to the screen that shows all your campaigns.  Find the campaign that you just set up and click on EDIT.

Now what you have to do is manually add all your existing prospects to your new group so if you want to email a newsletter, they will be in that group.  To do this we need to add them to the group you created at the start.

On the upper right side of the screen you'll see a text link for "Prospects in this drip campaign"  Click on it.

Click on "Add Prospects to Drip Campaign"

Search for ALL prospects.

Click on "Manage" for each prospect. In the upper right side click on the link for "Prospect Groups"

Add the prospect to your new group.

The hard part is that you have to do this for every prospect that you currently have.  The easy part is that now you have a set up where from here forward, if anyone does anything on your web site, they'll automatically be added to your new group IF they leave the box selected that says: Receive additional information via email.

I agree with Steve Parker.  I don't require that anyone give me their email or name.  I'll leave a web site if all I'm doing is "looking" and they want my email address.  If a prospect finds something on your site that interests them, they will get in touch with you (usually) HA!

If you don't like this, then go to http://www.formsite.com and set up a simple form for subscribers.  You can get a free account for a limited number of forms (just keep deleting the contacts to keep your free account empty!) or you can upgrade to a paid account.  Use the Iframe feature to add the external link from formsite.com to your Point2 web site and Viola... you have a opt-in form.

Here's a simple form I used at one time for FSBO's:

Here's one I WAS using for MLS Searches:

Hope that helps a little :)

There is a form in the system already, you just need to make it part of your site. May be load up and make it visible to visitor.

I use the feedback form.  Just remove "feedback" from the title.  When you set it up, you can identify where it comes from, like "request newsletter."

These are all such good ideas.

Steve, I really like the forms you made.  I've been wanting to start FSBO and MLS Search sites (already have the domains) but didn't know how to do the forms.  And thanks for the campaign instructions.  I admit that I haven't started using the drip email feature yet - fear of the unknown, I guess.  Your instructions might be the motivation I needed to get going on it.

Janet, I'm going to add a feedback form to my newsletter page so viewers can choose to have it emailed monthly.

Thanks everyone.

Mary
