Marketing tip: e-Postcard

Here is a tip to gain exposure for your listing.  We create "Just Listed e-Postcards" that we send out to agents.  We have a database of Keller Williams agents in the Atlanta area grouped by their market center.  We use a service called iContact to distribute the email rather than TopProducer or Outlook because iContact allows for the messages to be tracked.  iContact can generate reports for you so that you can track your messages and become more in tune with how effetive or uneffective your marketing is.  Rather than just sending emails with text and a "copy and paste" picture we take the time (very little because we use a template) to create an e-Postcard.  Quality pictures will sell a listing because you only have one chance to make a good first impression, likewise quality marketing will sell a listing!

Below is an example of an e-Postcard that we send to Realtors.

Hello Brenda,

You raised an interesting subject that will be beneficial to a large number of real estate agents looking for more cost effective way to market, not only thier listing, but also thier website. I am particularly interested in the iContact program and how the "just listed" flyer was created. You see, I paid Just Listed comapny around $35 each time I send information to cook county, illinois agents and thrust me, I have no idea who got it or whether they were delivered at all.

So, if you can elaborate a little on the two issues, you will be dong a great service to a whole lot of people. Thanks in advance.

Brenda,

I love these. I was introduced to this over a year ago.  There are so many pluses with these services.  I use one called Shaper Agent and it allows me to send automatic campaigns monthly to specific groups (saves stuffing envelopes).  Also, incorporating in some retail statstics about email ads (consumers are more likely to respond to a full-color ad emailed to them) I wanted to see if there was any truth.  I see direct relationships with viewing of listings online and showings with these campaigns.  It's one of the best technologies (and I think the most fun).

Maybe I'm missing something here, but I don't understand the need to send ecards to other agents.   If the listing is in an area that I work, I'll see it in my MLS searches. I already get more emails than I can handle!

Different strokes and all--but I'm with Susan.

I'd only be inclined to distribute to an agent who had expressed the desire for that type of property and asked me to post him/her.

Agent to agent marketing is all the rage now, but I expect it to start mellowing out when agents start blocking other agents from sending.

It's supposed to be 'opt in' / 'opt out'. And if my e-mail address got harvested or sold on a mailing list, I have hardly opted. LOL

I want the messages I send to agents--and receive from them--to be primarily offers or communiques about transactions. :)
