Mumbling Out Loud

Here we go again! "It's cheap, why wouldn't you just want to do it!"

A company calls me today and offers me and my listings TV commercials and #1 rankings on Google, Yahoo, MSN and all major search portals.  He starts throwing around all kinds of "designations" and how they are the most highly qualified by NAR standards, blah, blah, blah....

I ask the salesman, what key words are you number one for?

"ummm..." *sounds of shuffling and asking another salesperson there what I'm talking about.

*CLICK* I hang up.

They call back and it's the same guy.  He admits to being unprepared for my question and that he is just a salesman,  one of their technical people can better handle my question.    So he passes the phone and the guy says, yes sir, we come up #1 for X X X X (a four word search term that they did indeed google number 1 for).  I say ok, but that's not a very competitive term,  how many searches are done a day for that term.

"look sir, the key words are not really what you are paying for. This program is really affordable at only $250 for 2 weeks of commercials and then online until the property sells..I don't see why you wouldn't want to do it since it's so cheap.  Most REALTORS® just go ahead and get it because it costs so little.  Either you want to be a part of our program or you don't"

Ok, buh-bye...

*click*

Now tell me those guys don't have brass cahones!!  Call me on MY business line and tell me that I'm basically stupid for not following what "ALL THE OTHER AGENTS" are doing!   Guys and gals, these folks are OUT there looking for your money!

Here is the real kicker...it was $300 up front and $25 a month after that and the real "value" behind what they did was syndicate your listing...you guessed it to Yahoo, Google, Oodle, etc.  The only ones that they had that Point2 doesn't have already was YOUTUBE and Dish Network...but hey, give P2 time, right?

Funny.  Sad that people get to bug us with pathetic attempts at advertising.  Imagine if you walked into a listing this unprepared.

My question to them is:

How can everybody offer Number #1 placement?

Isn't there ONLY ONE Number 1 spot?

Here is the really funny part...now I have gotten three calls in two days from them and while I think that they are on to some cool ideas, they now have added the impact of saying they are Partnered with POINT2AGENT.

Hmmm....

I noticed I have been getting calls almost everyday for a company doing referrals saying that they were given my info by point 2 agent (not sure if this was true but it is the first real complaint I have had regarding point 2).  There reps are more then rude.  I work 3 areas so I don't necessarily take relo's in all of them b/c I can't service them.  I stated this after my 5th call that week and the guy went nuts on me.  He told me I must not want to make money and must not be a very good agent.  I was of course livid at them and both point 2 for having vendors access my number.  I wish for the life of me that I could remember the name of those creeps.

I saw this old post and had to comment since this recently happened to us.  Hope you guys are having less harassment and more fun.

Happy 4th.
