EFAX opinions...

By: Ron Tarvin

Ok, so I've set a date by the end of the month to stop using my office Efax and get MY OWN (I mean it adds to confidentiality and also allows me to get faxes any time of day, not just when the office is open).

So, I thought that since I don't know all that much about EFAX and what's available out there, I would consult with my trusted advisors (the P2Cru as Lonn likes to say) and see if you can direct me in both the good and bad of various efax companies out there!

So recommend away!

TimePS, I haven't forgotten about you folks waiting for the traffic idea...just trying to build some suspense!! Stick out tongue

I use Ring Central, www.ringcentral.com and likewise, I LOVE IT!  I believe that GoDaddy also has a product.

I think once you start using it, you'll wonder how you got by without it.

Good luck!

I use Callwave. Unlimited inbound e-fax per month for only $7.95 a month. For outbound i just use my brother PC-Fax and since I know you own a brother fax machine, I know you have this feature.

I concur with Todd Clark; "www.CallWave.com" is the way to go.  It's more than an e-fax type service.

I had RingCentral on my laptop back in the early 90's, then switched to eFax in the late 90's, then in 2002 I switched to CallWave.  Now I have 3 CallWave accounts that I use in my various marketing campaigns for tracking (which gives me 3 "e-land" lines and 3 "e-fax" lines), and they cost me a measely $29.85 per month for all 6 lines with unlimited service on ALL lines.  Everyone should at least check it out.

We use Rapidfax.com. I don't know what it costs, Francy controls the checkbbok and pays the bills. I think it's 10 bucks a month for a couple of hundred pages a month.

But callwave sounds interesting.

eFaxing is indeed one of those things you wonder how you lived without. It's not a microwave or a TiVO, but it's way up that list.

Oh, one nice thing about RapidFax is the toll free number is included (I'm sure others have it as well). Our out of state clients really appreciate that....

I use IFax and I don't know how I ever could get along without it.  Never a problem and I like the fact I have it on my computer in case I loose the paper.

I use K7.net. It's free. Plus, you can use it for voicemail (I don't). The drawback is the number is not local to where you live. And, they can deactivate for non use after 30 days. However, I advertise it only to other Realtors and request that any Purchase Offers and/or agreements be sent to both my office fax number and my K7 fax number. That way I don't have to "run to the office" to retrieve offers and contracts. If 30 days go by with no activity, I fax myself a one page document.

We have been using CommuniKate for over 5 years. CommuniKate is probably the Grand Daddy of all of 'em. They offer a unified communication solution that lets us manage our voice mail, email, faxes, calendar, and contacts via phone or web. The service includes a toll-free number, personal website, free audio conferencing, video conferencing, two voice mail boxes (great for us), two email addresses.

All incoming voice calls (answers and screens incoming calls!) and faxes are free. With voice commands you can listen to voice mail, have your email read to you, read fax headers and forward faxes, place a call to a contact, yada, yada. It's $35 per month for unlimited use with no contract and they give discounts if you prepay long term. We liked the service enough that we became a reseller. Being a reseller we can get the sign-up fee waived. Go to www.getkate.com and enter the codes to get the fee waived. Try it for a month and you'll see that it is like having a virtual assistant.

We have Vonage for phone service, so we added a fax line to it also, and that line goes thru our computer, and uses the windows fax service, then if our computer is off, the line goes from our computer to our all in one fax machine. This way we like alot. one thing the computer can capture the faxs and we have an e-file, also when we fax out useing our machine it scans a copy into our computer also. again we have a electronic file. so far this has worked great for us.

Cant wait for the day real estate go paperless!

I have found PFax to be a great service for just $3.95 per month.  No set up fees.  I get unlimited in bound faxes to my computer.  I have my choice of receiving them in fax fomat or .pdf.  You can view the info at www.Packetel.com, but should you decide to go with them let me know so I can refer you for a free month for both of us! I use my own fax machine for sending.

I have been using eFax for over two years now ... so far it has been quite reliable. The only problem I ever run into is when P2 e-mail sees my faxes as spam and doesn't forward them to my main e-mail. Plus I have two years worth of faxes stored on the eFax server and can access them anytime.
