Mumbling Out Loud

Use what ya got!

I was in the office over the weekend and this other agent tells me that she is so proud of her new "Virtual Tour".  So she pulls it up and shows it to me.  I'm like ahhh, cool.  Looks like a virtual tour...not much to it.

She goes on to tell me that it wasn't too expensive either...just $109.  I just kinda smiled and pulled up one of my virtual tours...she said it looked very nice.  She asked me the price...and I told her that it's part of my website that I pay about $100/month for.  She couldn't believe it.  Then I showed her the branded AND unbranded versions and her disbelief grew.  Then I told her that I have the most expensive site they selland that there is a less expensive version, about $50/month that includes the same tours...I thought she might cry.

So either you pay $50/month for your virtual tours and get a free website, or you get a $50/month website and get free virtual tours...you just have to choose at sign up!! Stick out tongue

By the way,  I just had a client that I took a listing for on Friday call me and tell me how incredible my virtual tour looks...and it didn't cost me $109 each!

Actually it's $39.95/month. Even a better deal. I've showed everyone I know my VT and they are paying money for theirs. They are now wanting to join, I explained the whole P2 thing and some are actually starting to use it now..

Yeah that goes right along with Realtors that pay $190.00 to have an online flyer distributed. They are proud of their accomplishment in figuring out the working mechanics but usually don't take the time to throughoutly shop around and investigate the market for those kinds of services. Usually the prices are set at $40 or less for the same service to redundant distributors.

Virtual tours are great, but there are a number of services out there that will rip you off in preparing one. I have been working with a MySpace generator that produces slideshows as an augmentation to VT. They take less space and can be run directly from an embeded link. Best thing is that if you have the pictures, many of the generator sites will do the compilation and hosting for FREE. All you have to do is post the code. I love free stuff!

The owner of my company just gave everyone a free web site. Then he lowered the ceiling on the amount of re-imbursement for our advertising per month by $35. Now he wants us to reduce the size of our name so it is not only smaller than the National logo, but the company name under under the logo. As for the VT I only use the unlimited account from www.realestateshows.com for $120 per year, which is really a slide show. No one has complained about it. Flyers are free with the National franchise and there is one available from the company web site. The stats say over 7000 visitors last month to my "company" web site. They stayed an average of 2.5 minutes and not one sale.
