Someone brought up the topic of their picture on their business card the other day and while IMAGE MARKETING is another topic all together (usually), but it made me wonder, What's on the BACK of your business cards these days?

Lots of choices out there on what to do, but what brings  the most bang for your buck?

My card says: If you know anyone in need of a Realtor, please do not hesitate to refer family, friends and colleagues.  I love Referrals.  I also have another card to leave at the seller's home and it says: Thank you for allowing me into your home for your information I was Previewing/Showing a buyer. (there is an appropriate box to check off)  If I have any questions, I will call your real estate agent.

I have coupons for 15 local/regional/national area merchants. These are the best cards I have ever had. The quality is great and they are affordable. You can choose their merchants (pages and pages) or sign up local ones. I love these.

It varies.  Rather than having them pre-printed I do labels so I can change.  Some have current listing/rental information and a picture, referrals always appreciated, my web address in larger letters, etc.

I like being able to customize.

Ron, I have the  44 counties of my state (Idaho) and the number code for the corresponding county e.g. 1A is Ada county ; 8B is Bonneville county.

It is helpful when navigating around the state.

"The highest compliment I can receive is the referral of friends and family.  Thank you for your trust."

But, the best way I found to get mileage out of your business card is to cut a business card magnet in half and put a magnet on the back of business cards as well.

I give one of both, magnet and non-magnet.

The magnet ones show up on fridges all over the place and they still have one to give away!

Ok, so the reason I bring this up is that I KNEW there would be a whole gamut of things on the back of the card and sometimes NOTHING at all.

So the follow up question to this question is:

HOW MUCH BUSINESS DO YOU DIRECTLY ATTRIBUTE TO WHAT IS ON THE BACK OF YOUR CARD?

My thought is that while having a tip calculator or a "I LOVE REFERRALS" message on there, it may not be a powerful motivator for someone to CALL you (isn't that what a business card is for?).

Oh and by the way, my card doesn't have anything on the back but my logo right now (and I guarantee that doesn't motivate anyone to call us!)

I have some cards that have recruiting info on the back ... I use those when I show properties to leave at the house or at broker opens.

Then I also have cards that are blank in the back ... a lot of times you want to give it to a client and need to write down info for them as well ... lender contacts, attorney contact, etc, that way I can just write it on the card.

I have only been a REALTOR for a short time and ordered the least expensive one-sided cards to get me started. Now I'm ready to re-order and I believe I will be offering something of value along with a call to action, to my site or to call me. i.e., "Save time and money on your next home purchase. Call Me NOW! or visit ..." You get the idea. And if you have an idea, please share!

I don't have anything on the back of my card. I use them all the time to jot down a phone number, appointment time or directions to a title company for clients when I am out with them. I know they'll at least hold onto the card for a little while with the information on the back!

Personally, I don't think anything on the back of a card will get you more business. I do make a point of writing a handwritten thank you note for all of my closing and mail it about a week after closing. I also send a one year anniversary card for all my buyers. In both of these, I include another card and specifically ask for referrals in addition to thanking them for their business.
