Who Wouldn't Want To Pick their Neighbor? Paula Deen!

Katie and I own the home next door to Paula Deen's new home that she is building here in Savannah.  Our home is currently on the market for sale.  Thinking Paula may be interested in the opportunity of picking her neighbor I contacted her people about this and was really surprised to find that Paula did not want the chance to pick her neighbor.  I tried to put myself in Paula's shoes and I honestly thought I would love the chance to get a close friend or family member next door to my new home with the consideration that money is not an object, but I guess my assumption was wrong.  I must admit the Paula is a great lady and her new homes property is so large that it wouldn't be a quick short walk to visit you neighbor next door if she wanted to.

Well that is just so cool.  I must admit I (Dixie) am a big Paula Deen fan and *** is a fan of the cooking I do from her recipes! With a name like Dixie, southern cooking is the only way! On a real estate level, it has to be a boom to your property!  Just wait until Paula's home is finished! You might of just not got in contact with the correct person on her staff. They are probably almost programmed to say NO, just like when you walk into a store and when a sales person says can I help you, and you say No, Just Looking!

That is true.  I didnt think of that.  Well, Uncle Bubba (Paula's Brother) Is a friend so I may just ask him who to contact or even ask Bubba to ask her himself.

Contacting her people doesn't mean she's not interested, they probably didn't even tell her. If its next door with a sigh she'll find it I'm sure and if they're interest will contact you. Why are you selling? Can you advertise that its a celeb neighborhood? Paula is so delightful on TV, I can imagine her baking you cookies or something and stopping by to see you once she settles in. (but don't count on it)

Someone will find out where she is and want to be in your neighborhood, rasie the price!

I hope so.  We have moved to the other side of the island to be closer to family.  I am currently planning to advertise in  Paula's magazine, so this may bring a loyal fan buyer.

I personally would not want a friend or family member to be next door. LOL! Too close for comfort!

Great News.  This home is now under contract. And it was not through a connection with Paula.

First of all you are in real estate I should think you would have no problem selling the house if it is priced right and advertised well. I dont think that you need to depend on Paula building her new home next door to be the deal maker in this situation. Things can always change and if you advertise Paula as the parties new neighbor that may be a turn off for them... This may mean an invasion of privacy or something like that to someone. By the way Katie is SEXY!!! If you decide to leave the old man give me a call...
