Count your blessings.
Do something for you, such as treat yourself out to a nice dinner out. Soak in a hot tub.
Drink the best wine you can afford (life's too short to drink cheap stuff anyway)
Be with people who love you for you--not what you can do for them.
Watch the funniest movie or TV show you can find and laugh your butt off.
Exercise.
Swim.
Do something nice for someone who you know will appreciate it.
There are more, but it's Friday night and I just cracked into the bubbly. Have a wonderful weekend and a safe and insane Fourth!
Take a deep breath, count to three, slowly blow out the breath, then pick up the phone to call the lender's workout department!
Check out Relib to see who Gloria got to deal with today (same kind of thing as watching Soaps, someone always has it worse then you!)

Sharron, do we have to be kind and up beat? I am much better at sarcasm. lol.
I agree, we have to keep the people face and attitude so what helps me sort it all out is I have 2 little grandboys that live 3 houses down from me who I love to stop and visit when I feel I need to slow down. They wear me out quickly as they are high energy, but so funny to watch.
Also, I sleep in on occassion (little past 8am) as a special treat for me.
And I like Psalms and Proverbs, there is something there for every day and every circumstance. I think it helps to remember that we all answer to a higher power and that helps put things in perspective.
And I burn scented candles year round as I love them.
I do love comedies on tv, and funny movies. I think you need to laugh every day even if sometimes it is at yourself. My husband and I joke with each other constantly.
And I like to walk barefoot in the rain.
It is so hard to find a "stopping point" for the evening. There is always something more to do.
I reward myself after every close and I try to do things with the kids everyday. I coach their baseball and softball teams and realize what it must be like to not have to have a care in the world.
Do a little gardening, then Smoke a Good Cigar while gazing over your colorful kingdom!
Hey, wait....
Candy is bubbling and she wants to be safe and insane at the same time???
Shouldn't we call 911 in advance just so they are ready?
This is not a tough job. Never has been and never will be. What's refreshing to the soul is the down market.....it weeds out all the Realtors who think that this is a tough job.
Phil, I agree with you. This job is only as hard as you make it. When a major downturn occurs, only the strong will survive.
This forum has developed into two parts: 1. Information exchange. 2. Complaining about deals, conditions, and people (like Lifetime movies and soap operas).
The information exchange is wonderful and enlightening. I have gained knowledge about many aspects of real estate and hopefully provided a little. The complaining is getting old and boring. Everyone in every industry has bad deals and difficult customers. Take responsibility for your own position in life and stop blaming other people and the media for your problems. If something doesn't work, do something else.
LOL Lonn . . . Moderation in all things, INCLUDING moderation . . .
If you have ever seen Boston Legal on television, I got a visual of Lonn puffing on his cigar and saying "Denny Crane".
This business can be tough in the beginning and those who are strong muddle through, find their path and make it to the "other side."
Still, there are days and clients who are crazy and it can get to you if you let it.
I love to work in my yard - I have a very bohemian gardening style - a splash of this, a little of that. I move plants around, kill plants (you're not a true gardener unless you kill something once in a while). I prefer to use a shovel to clear an area as opposed to tilling up the grass. I like to sweat and then sit back in the shade and enjoy the fruits of my labor.
Sometimes this is a tough job. Most times It is a cruise. We do get beat up and dragged around sometimes. I look at the closing as the light at the end of the tunnel. When that light gets there I am ready to tackle another, and another, and another....
Grandkids, some good wine, a wonderful dinner to celebrate the closing and I am recharged and ready.
Mary, I also pictured that! Denny Crane. Why are there no real estate shows. There are some deals that merit a show!
I think you're right this isn't a tough job and can be as hard or as easy as you make it. It can be frustrating at times though when we have to deal with things that we can't control. That is what people find "tough" so they should be thinking of it as frustrating not tough. What job doesn't have its frustrations?
I don't find this nearly as stressful as being a financial aid administrator.
I remember once about 15 years or so ago in my past life as a FA administrator, I had a doctor's appointment because I once again had a sinus infection and I was also having a lot of trouble with indigestion. Dr Paul and I were talking and I mentioned that I had a stressful job. He just looked at me asked me what exactly do you do? I told him and explained what a typical day was like. He just shook his head and said no, that isn't stressful....is anyone going to die? Worrying about your next patient dying from cancer or a heart attack or a tragic car accident and having to tell them and their family and treating that patient is stressful. Gave me a whole new perspective.
Mary, I LOVE Boston Legal! I even got my dad (in his mid-80s!) to start watching it and he never likes shows like that. I hear John Larroquette is joining the cast this season.
There was "Hot Properties" last season but it was silly. No wonder people think all we do is sit around all day.
Daily Exercise !!
I clean, paint, wash windows, mow grass, etc. Immediate gratification!
I absolutely love Boston Legal! Now, are you saying that Lonn reminds you of Denny Crane or of his balcony partner?
Sharron, Lonn can be either Alan or Denny. It is up to him and his stogie. lol
Cathy, do I have a job for you....
Definitely more of a Denny Crane...
But no guns, no skirt chasing, and not too much of the mad cow...
Oh, yes I forgot about the mad cow. So a little mad cow is tolerable? Denny Crane.
lol- How do you feel about little people, Lonn?
Speaking of Denny Crane, how do you know if you have mad cow disease?
