So, this was a business trip? If not, it is really ok to take some time off. lol

I'll be on vacation for 10 days in August and it's a little freaky for me.  I'll be taking lap top and cell phone with me and have a back up person for anything that I just can't handle long distance like a viewing, possibly writing a contract, etc.  All of my clients "in process" will be notified that I'm "traveling, but available if they need me."

I'm fortunate that my company does most of my marketing.  The rest is somewhat automatic...I do certain things each month, so for vacation, I'll either do them a little early or a little late...for me, as long as I get them within the month, I feel ok about it.

Well that must be a trick question or something..

Gee just forward your phone to me and I will handel it all for you. ha ha

Vancation

With your website out there, aren't you technically promoting your services 24/7?  You can set up an auto responder on your e-mail to let people know your response will be delayed or to tell them who they should call if they don't want to wait.  Same thing with your voice mail.

Connie has been gone for a little over a week and she changed her voice mail and left her phone turned off.  This is the first vacation since getting into real estate, where she wasn't trying to handle stuff long distance.

Since your business partner appears to be your spouse, you are most likely vacationing together....  if you don't have anyone staying behind to handle things, at least be glad you have a spouse who is in it with you and can understand why you can't just turn the phone off.

    Yesterday, I went to the movies for 3 hours, and I'm feeling a little foolish because I did no advertising/marketing while there.

    Like many of you, most of the buyers that I work with are seeking vacation homes or retirement homes and also go to the movies.

    Since these buyers are all in one room, I know I must have missed a great opportunity to promote my website and real estate services.

    I don't have the money to advertise on screen; so does anyone have any ideas?  Maybe the "Usher is really a Realtor" trick.

What is a vacation? I take some of my flyers and company brochures and leave them everywhere that I go while I am out of town. I leave them If I see  a place for them or see some other real estate stuff laying around. Somebody called me once from some far far away place that had a flyer from some realative of theirs that had picked it up God knows where!!!! It was crazy to think that one of my flyers was making it around the US while I am stuck here! So while on Vacation paper the town!

All work and no play is not a good thing. Sometimes you just have to recharge...

your website is doing the marketing for you while you're gone. I wouldn't worry about it that much ... just kick back and relax. Apparently you are still able to access the internet since you're posting while on vacation ... so if you had any really hot leads coming in, you would still be able to let them know you're working on whatever they need without losing them.

But I shouldn't be even talking. I haven't had a vacation in years :-( and the last one I took, I had my laptop, wireless internet and an angry husband who wanted to throw it all out from the balcony if I didn't kick back and relax :-)

I am going to Paris & Greece and I am having an Associate handle my clients while I am gone.  I will still be checking emails and such.  It is a little concerning as I am out of the country.  Another State I can handle but this is away and not reachable. Yikes

My husband and I were just talking about this topic! You never know who will see your info and will need an agent in your area or know someone who may. I say leave your web address wherever you can.

It seems like agents go on vacation and voila they have more business! It is mind boggeling to me but I see it happening all around me! Four of our friends are agents and they went on vaca throughout the yr (not together) and came home to new clients practically waiting for them it seemed! Meanwhile we have skipped vaca to stay in the office to get clients. We may have this backwards!

...So we are going on vacation for a week in August!

I was on vacation 'till today and my customers were great. They all know how hard we work, and as long I posted on my website 'I'll be back' on August 1st, and answered their emails that I will come to them asap I am back, respond was 'Just relax' no one was in such a hurry, and I was greatefull for not taking my lap top with me.

Just chill out, you deserve it ;)
