MLS Providers

Well, good morning everyone!  Here I am at a minute past midnight and I am in the pursuit of information.  I'd like to get info from you about your MLS provider.  Which company?  Do you know how long your board has been with its current provider?   What do you like and what do you dislike?  What would you like to see them improve?  How is their support staff?  You don't have to share how much it costs here publicly but I would like to know if you feel that you are getting a good value for your money.  Do you use your MLS system for just searching properties or is it a more comprehensive system with modules like contact management,  calendar, mapping, tax info built in?  Does it have good looking brochures? Do you find it easy to navigate around the various screens?  Do you use DSL or something else and do you have good page load times?  Is it internet based and if so, does it have a companion desktop for times when you aren't on the net?  Do you have a PDA/smartphone sytem included and do you like and use it?   Is the reporting function up to snuff?  Does the system have a built in showing/appointment scheduler for each property?

And last, just for fun....do you know of anyone in your board who still receive and use  "the book?"

Thanks bunches!!!!

Geeked

(Well, I've been sidetracked a couple of times since I started this one so it is now `12:46 am)  Nite-Nite!

Velda,

Are you searching for IDX providers or MLS providers?  As far as I know, the MLS provider that your board uses is chosen by the MLS board you belong to and all of the members of that board have to use the same one.

If you're seaching for and IDX provider in addition to your regular MLS provider, not all IDX companies service all areas either.  So you will need to research which companies provide that service in your area.

Hope that helps.

Not IDX.  Actual MLS providers for an association.

Cape & Islands uses Rappatoni, statewide is MLSPin.  I don't have a preference for either because I really don't use all the features offered by either.  Never had the time to really research what's available.  I'm spending all my free time working my P2 site!

Our Boards just switched to Navica  we were using Paragon, Voyager product before.  It seems Navica is less expensive and provided alot of extra bells and whistles that Voyager couldn't keep up with. Navica allows for uploading your listing information again depending on the restrictions that your board places on them. One Board here allows for uploading pictures only, the other is wide open and you can upload everything including pending or sold notice.  Good Luck!

Our board just did a huge change and it is taking a bit to get use to - but we have two depending on what you need - eNeighborhoods Wyldfyre7 <--- searches, marketing goodies and Tempo by First American MLS Solutions, Inc. <--- searches, brokerload, Alliance.  Wyldfyre is connected to Tempo.  Along with the new MLS we have also entered into a much larger alliance called SoCalMls -  Several of our area boards have joined together.  Our dues haven't gone up yet so have no idea of cost.  I like the added goodies on Tempo, but haven't figured out everything yet.
