I have to purchase a new camara.  And I need help from ya'll.  I would like one that :

1-takes a good picture

2- is easy to use

3- has a wide angle or panaramic option

4- has rechargable batteries

5- easy to carry around in purse or pocket

6- is digital (of course)

7 - won't break the bank.

 Any suggestions?

thanks, shelly

Morning Shelly-I use the Sony Cyber Shot T series.  It is the size of a small man's wallet.  It has a rechargeable battery that last for weeks and if you upgade the memory, it can hold 500 to 600 shots.  Very easy to use and most importantly I would buy another in a heart beat.  I think it cost $199. Have fun shopping!

We loved our Nikon CoolPix P3 so much that we bought a second one, so now both my husband and I have our own cameras.

Easy to use, and we have a rechargable battery and an extra battery.

My husband bought them on e-bay  for around $300.00.

Shelz, Fuji S5000 is good for interiors but need to get 24mm wide angle lens.  Camera is about $400 and the 24mm (Sony) lens is about $400.

Fuji handles warm brown tones (like interiors) very well but not the best for exterior blue tones.

Are you going to be taking pictures of Shelly to post on the blog?

Shelz, really need GOOD camera for listings.  Don't worry about the megapixel thing.  That is not important.  I shoot everything in 2 megapixel mode which works for postcard sized photos.  If you are doing 8 by 10 size, then you will need 6 or so megapixel.

Camera quality has nothing to do with megapixels.  If dealing with web stuff, then megapixels do not matter at all.

STAND BACK..... GONNA TAKE SOME PICTURES !!!!

I have an Olympus, 4 mp.  It's old though.  They probably don't even make them anymore!  But I do love it.  Does portrait, panorama, short movies, four different resolutions, easy to work.  I also like the software program it came.  Very easy to understand and work with.  Batteries are standard AA, though.  It is a workhorse!

I have a Nikon Coolpix E8400 ... and wouldn't change a bit about it!

here are the specs:

... the only thing is it wouldn't fit into your pocket. But it's great and has an Ultra-wide angle zoom.

I was miles from home the other day when I wanted to take pictures of my latest listing. My good Sony digital camera was at home. I stopped in a Wal-Mart and bought a Cannon digital for $148. It did great! In fact the photos are on my website now as my "featured listing". Go check them out at:

http://RealtorThompson.com

It is the "1438 Valley Crest Court" property. All those photos, except the artist's drawing, were taken with this $148 Wal-Mart Cannon.

My Coolpix was recommended to me by my friend who has been a Yearbook teacher and sponsor for many years. She consistently wins awards with the yearbook that her students produce.

She recommended the Coolpix after I explained to her my photography needs: MLS photos, virtual tour photos, print ads, post card and brochure photos AND my skills AND my pocketbook.

I have been very pleased with this camera and I get many compliments from clients who see the photo quality.

Shelly, I have a Kodiak V570 dual lens, I like it comes with stand and is always charged when I ready to use it. The easy share program as it says is very easy to use. I feel its a little pricey $ 399.00 at Sams I like buying my electronics at Sams when ever possible I've taken things back that go bad up to 14 months after purchase. Roger

My newer Toshiba 3.2 mega-pixels with 6X optical zoom sits here by my computer as I continue to prefer my older Kodak DX210-Plus with a true 28mm lens that I bought on eBay about 6 years ago for less than $80. It only has a 2X zoom but who cares when you are doing interior shots. What's important is the 'quality' of the lenses in the camera. Here's a tour I did today using it:

Shelley, I had one of the first Fuji cameras and after dropping it went to the small Minolta's and it had a great battery.  The size was what sold it.  I bought a second minolta for the higher resolution, still small but the batteries are double A.  After investing about $30 in rechargeables and a charger I'm prety satisfied.  For wide angles I rely on an old Canon DV video camera for which I have various lens adapters then proceed to take frames from the video as opposed to using the built in still function.

Windows will find all the cameras as a separate removable disk in the My computer folder whether it is a usb or dv connection. Three clicks from your desktop and the pictures are in a folder of your choice.  Good luck,

Oh, I thought you wanted my attention... you were just correcting the spelling.  don't worry, I am used to it.  I get called Shelly, shelley, shelby, and now currently Shellz, it doesn't matter as long as you call me!!!

thanks for you insight.  I have a digital recorder, and maybe I should look into that for my wide angle shots.  interesting Idea... thanks.
